Without including the kids or a guy like Coots, the only players on the Flyers current roster that teams are going to have an real interest in are Simmonds and to a much lesser extent, Gudas. I'd be open to listening to offers for either.

Pretty much. Maybe Neuvirth to a lesser extent.

Every team in the league would want Wayne Simmonds imo. Just not sure who would have the means to get it done. I would say half the league would take gudas. He has a moderate salary is younger right handed and is a feared hitter. I thought dreger pointing out that hexy wants to make a trade but everyone keeps just wanting the kids and hexy basically hangs up is the more interesting line.

Also read filpula could be rentals with salary retention by the flyers though they won't bring back anything significant in return

Yeah but what would we get for him a third? And we don't exactly have anyone ready to fill the back up role atm.

If Filppula players solid he could be a good rental for a team down the stretch.

Simmonds could be the golden goose this year. He is cheap and has another cheap year on his deal and a 30 goal scorer. And if your trading him the Flyers are going to get back a 1st rounder and a young NHL roster player at least.

Not likely, but you never know, a desperate injured team playoff bound may cough up a 2nd

If Hexy did send off Simmer for youth or picks there are some intriguing stop gap options projected to hit FA that could replace:

Hornqvist, Stone, Ward, Lupul, Scoob, Grabner, Hemsky

Not completely ideal.. Well, I would vouch for one of those guys.

Neuvirth must have got hurt in practice. He hasn't played since the San Jose game a week ago.

Lindblom could be ready too.

Also I have a feeling Wade Allison will be turning pro after this season. And depending who you get in the trade that could be the replacement.

Why not Morin? Was he just a really bad pick at 11th in the 1st round or just such a big roll the dice on him project type player?

Can't even call Morin up. What a winger dinger of a season he's having.
Will he be an NHL regular by the time he's 30

Yeah a 2nd for filp is about right. Which wouldn't be bad considering we got him for essentially a 5th rounder

Don't think they'd trade Filp. Then we wouldn't have enough older sub-mediocre forwards to take all of the 3rd period ice time.

Read has no value at all at this point. I doubt they could get a 7th for him at this point. Filppula will get you something at the deadline with 50% retention, likely a late 2nd from a contender looking for an upgrade at 3C.

And the top 5 pick moves a step closer.

If you think Ghost makes mistakes defensively, wait until you see Brennan in action!
