Roster announcements are still preliminary, but to me a WJC roster spot is negligible to the prospects future. Its like Yzerman selecting the men's Olympic roster, it wasnt an assembly of the best players but a roster they thought they could win with.
For the premise of making the NHL, I dont think the prospects being considered for the tournament have had a substantial increase in their future potential from the draft to today. Some might see it different, but I think their chances remain fairly steady in the past 6 months
