Fuk Russia the cheating bastards. They also cheat at judging. I remember the year they cheated in figure skating with the French judges . We finally got our gold medal months later but had to share it with Russia

WJC will be most interesting to watch as a Canuck fan in memory. Which is evidence that these prospects have legit chance to make impact in NHL and soon.

No it's not.
There have been lots of players who have done very well at the WJC but not so well in the NHL. Cody Hodgson obviously comes to mind.
Does this make me a tanker or a draftist?

Neither just a cynic. Even by your exception example, of a player having career ended injury, it verifies the premise that the players have a legit chance of making the NHL.

Appears that #Canucks prospect Elias Pettersson was taken out of the CHL game vs Bern today - only played 7:36 in the first and didn't see him throughout the 2nd or 3rd.

Did not notice any particular play where he was hurt.

You said making an 'impact' and 'soon'. Not just that it gives them a chance of making the NHL.

Apparently Hodgson doesn't count due to his 'career ending injury'.

Pavel Brendl (10 points in 7 Games)
Mikhail Vorobyov (10 points in 7 Games)
Oskar Osala
Luke Adam
Brandon McMillan

...And I'm really only listing the ones that anybody would have ever heard of. There are way more who have names I don't recognize at all.

As in be more then a fringe player and have a role. This does impact the team as Devils are an example.

You are looking at EP, OJ, Gadjovich., Lind, and Lockwood to name the main WJC players who will be looking to earn spots on the Canucks and change the look of the team.

These are the only 2 that are locks to make their teams, the rest are not guaranteed a spot on WJC rosters, let alone an NHL one. Saying "soon" is getting a bit too far ahead, IMO most of those names will see AHL icetime

Also Gaudette is too old for the tournament

Marwood is right, plenty of players have had great WJC success and failed to be valuable NHL players.

Adam French wrote a whole blog on it, and he was just naming a few of the more popular ones that most fans knew about, not the prospects that were only hyped up by their own fanbases.

Isn't that what Christmas is for, hyping up your teams 3rd round pick that made the Slovakian WJ team?

If you interpret soon as next season then yes that's getting a bit ahead. We'll know by tomorrow the roster announcements lets revisit then.

As far as the premise of making NHL it is not a lock but a legit chance which says more then those fringe players on weak nation teams from the past. That's the difference that should be recognized.
