Ya, I get it with the cheep contract, but man he brings nothing to the offensive side of the game. He wouldn’t be a primary focus of mine just yet, but I’d listen to offers and certainly throw him in a deal as necessary.

My biggest focus would be trying to move Okposo and seeing what is offered for Reinhart.

- IonSabres

There is a western conference team that has inquired about Okposo and I agree with you about Girgensons I would move him also if the deal was right.

I would think girgs and Larsson would both be strong trade deadline targets for a cup team's fourth line. Give us your fastest prospect

I’m not against moving Girgs,
but I don’t really get these ppl saying they expect offense out of him when he’s stuck on the 4th line with limited icetime

I said when he was drafted he’d never be a 20goal guy & ppl freaked out on me saying he’d be our future captain

His ceiling (imo) has always been 3rd line defensive center

I think he can still at least be a good 4th line guys for us

We actually have A LOT of speed coming

Bailey, Baptiste, Mittelstadt, Nylander, Pu, Rodrigues, Guhle...
all very good skaters

We still need physical guys too for the playoffs
In that respect,
move Larsson & keep Girgs, bc he’s got some speed at least

He can be a 3rd line guy and he can score 15 or so but playing 8 minutes a night isn't going to help him

With all the forwards we have coming with more offensive talent,
I could see Girgs being a good 4th line role player for us
He’s got decent speed & some offensive ability. Can play the PK

He’s not irreplaceable though either
Just a guy I think could be pretty good settled into a specific role

On the Instigators today,
Kris Baker was on saying that he thinks Mittelstadt will be “ready” next year
The guys were then saying that playing him on the 3rd line where he could be sheltered a bit would be good for him
I agree, makes sense
I’d put Nylander on that 3rd line too, then add a Vet on the other wing like Pommer or Okposo for some stability

Nylander-Mittelstadt-Pommer/Okposo

Holy crap... a 3rd line that can score!
Wouldn’t that be something?

A guy doesn’t score 15g in a season by accident
And I think it was only in 60-something games

We’ve seen flashes of SOME offensive talent

He just doesn’t have top6 scoring ability

*keep in mind,
I’ve also said (from the day he was drafted) that he’d never be a 20goal guy

But 5-10goals, that’s reasonable
He’s not Adam Mair or Andrew Peters

I hope that's how it goes, however, we have to see Nylander start scoring first. I would hope this guy would be toying with AHL talent level players, but because of injury we haven't seen that yet.

I want to see him develop as opposed to come up to the big club solely because he's a high draft pick.
