its why im not opposed to draft picks in return for some of our guys. Whoever you took with the late first would likely be the 2nd or 3rd best prospect in the organization right away (first if Mittelstadt/nylander make the jump and stick next year)

I get that but I think in the end the only high end guy moved is kane and at some point they may have to change their stance from "we want this type of young player back" to "lets get as much value back before he walks"

This is of course in a scenario where contract talks are pretty much over.
