This makes much more sense in trying to prove the AHL matters than that worthless chart

HOWEVER...
it doesn’t take into account that teams in the AHL have Vets on them who are most often their key scorers & icetime guys

It’s not purely a league with prospects like the NCAA or Canadian JRs

- jdfitz77

But most of the vets have spent time in the NHL to varying levels of success.

Brian Campbell was an example of someone who could have used time in the AHL. However, he eventually figured it out. If you're good enough, and you have the mental fortitude, you will eventually succeed in this league, minor league time or not.
- buffalofan19

He played 2.5 years in the AHL
Bad example

True
I’m just saying that the success of an AHL team isn’t directly correlated to the development of young talent there

It’s usually the Vets & Goalies who are making the big differences in success at that level

GMJB has taken 600 calls on our garbage today, but word is he won't pull the trigger until some either offers him a Ford Edsel or a lifetime pass to our subway to nowhere.

Once I crawled on top of one of my coaches car to stick my bare ass in the sunroof and fart...I pushed to hard and pooped a little on his center console between the two seats. When I jumped off the car and hobbled my way into the store bathroom I found adult diapers and wore one for the rest of the day.

Goddamned lie.

I watched Better Call Saul too and I know all about the Chicago Sunroof.

Why is his coach's car at the store instead of at school, where it should be?

And what store keeps adult diapers in the bathroom?
goddamn.

So you’re saying a goalie who give up 3 goals on 20 shots against gives the same performance as a goalie who gives up 3 goals on 35 shots against?

Come on man
That’s not even arguable

- jdfitz77

When did I say that? I said a good save % is over rated. And it depends on the quality of shots

You said GAA is a better stat to gauge a goalie

I don't see how anyone can argue that a Hasek in or near his prime would not carry this team. He carried the worst team in Sabres history
- lulags

He would carry this team but they still wouldn't make the playoffs, that isn't the debate

Hasek would and could carry this team in his prime all day everyday.

BUT this team wouldn't be a .500 team with him, this is statistically the lowest scoring team in Sabres history

Let's use the scenario given:

A goalie who lets in 3 on 20 vs a goalie who lets in 3 on 35.

.850% vs .920%

Did the goalie who had a .920 have a better game? Not necessarily, he may have let in 2 poopty goals.

Did the goalie who had the .850% play like crap? Not necessarily. 2 of the three could have been horrible defensive lapses by his team or odd man rushes
