Good piece on CJ Smith in Rochester...

The one thing that I liked was what he said at the end..."looking at Pittsburgh pretty much every guy played in the AHL at some point in their career"

Wait a minute, didn't I say that like 3-4 days ago??

Hearing the Oil is considering Lehner but IMO they should be targetting Linus Ullmark

Curious as to what we would get back.

I would assume Cam Talbot would come back the other way, but what would the + be?

Or Lehner is going to cost more than he is worth and Ullmark can come up and play at a fraction of the cost.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Seravalli’s colleague Darren Dreger yesterday reported the Oilers and Pittsburgh Penguins are among the clubs inquiring into the availability of Johnson and Sabres starter Robin Lehner. While Johnson’s struggled this season, he has decent career numbers (2.52 goals-against average, .913 save percentage) as a backup. If he’s available, the asking price could be a draft pick, perhaps a fourth-round selection. I don’t see the Sabres trading Lehner.

I dont see us trading Lehner either but I wish we would wipe the slate clean including ECHL's contract

At this point I would think they are not going to make moves to try to make the playoffs. Only problem is unless they finish dead last in the league, they will wind up in the 5th or 6th draft position... Bad luck when it comes to the lottery..

Agreed. But the purge of this roster has to happen.

That's what makes Johnson a better option for the Oilers. They won't pay 4mil for Lehner to sit on the bench once Talbot is back.

I think that went out the window with the Henrique trade
- sbroads24

They do still have excess Defensemen...
but yeah, you’re probably right

Wishful thinking hell yes but, Doughty said he is not going to take a discount.

Maybe the Kings know they cant sign him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Doughty moved.

Hell I'd take Dustin Brown cap dump back with it too.

- ImThatGuy

Absolutely not
And I like Brown
That contract is awful for too long
Unless we are just gonna use a compliance buyout on it when the next lockout comes?

I think we will hold on to Ullmark. I bet Johnson is the only option for a rental, Lehner for someone looking for a splitter or potential #1

It’s a done deal for a 2nd
Make it happen J Botts

We’d really only end up losing like 10 spots from the 1st we traded for him

Talbot would be the likely candidate.

A "change of scenery" for both goalies.

Im not Doing a Lehner for Talbot swap. Talbot is bad.

If we are taking Talbot back, I am thinking we get a 2nd rd pick back.

And again, im still on board for Zach Kick-Assian

If it’s the Ducks, I’m intrigued
I like their Defensemen for the most part
I’m a pretty big O’Reilly supporter,
but him for Manson + Larsson fixes our defense
I doubt they’d give us 2 defensemen though, maybe if we sent one back like Beaulieu?

If it’s the Kings.... f#ck no

don't be surprised if Mccabe is shipped out as well

The only person i would be shocked at would be Eichel.

Other than that. Good, hopefully this team gets better.

Lehner and McCabe for RNH and Talbot. Make it happen JBotts!!!

I agree that I DO not want Talbot for Lehner. I would rather recover something for him, like a second or 2 3rds, than take talbot. We can bring Ullmark up. He has been chomping at the bit for a chance to prove himself.
