So what has happened to the team that started this season? On this road trip there needs to be some big changes in play and results or there needs to be a change with Hak. I was expecting a playoff bubble team this year, not this complete joke that has been on the ice the last 10 games. Really to be at this point in the season and be looking at a team that unless they win games on this trip are more or less out of the playoffs already.

In terms of building towards the future, yes.

I truly hope with this relatively long break they just had, the staff was able to get some good practices in and tighten up some team and systems play. Maybe reinforce some things.

If this team comes out listless and with no real plan, a bunch of guys playing individually, then something needs to be done. If Hak has lost the room (and I have no reason to believe he has....yet) he has to go.

Like anything in life, mental state of players and a team is very important. There is no doubt that this team is frustrated, fragile, and lacks confidence. One of the things that Hextall is going to have to figure out if this team doesn't respond soon is if it's about those things or is it about the coach has lost the team, and if it's the former does he think they can get out of that hole with this coach.

If I am trading Simmonds, I am aiming for a team finishing bottom 10 that is on the rise. With that said, I’m asking for a 2018 1st, a 2019 1st (conditional on draft spot, similar to Schenn deal with an option to move for 2020), and a prospect or current roster player.

Now with a return to that degree, you’d assume It’s a trade + sign deal for Simmer. However, I’m not sure if the possibility of trading Simmonds and him returning via free agency has been mentioned much
