Agree, and he seems like he's one of the more creative forwards the Flyers have. - Ftown19125
Creative is not the adjective I would use. Konecny to his credit plays with a lot of effort and desire and he makes a lot of individual plays. They aren't the kind of plays that will lead to long term success against the structured checking of the NHL. |

Well Hak, you've got nothing to lose at this point. Time to go radical and shake things up:
TK-Coots-Voracek
Giroux-Patrick-Raffl
Weal-Laughton-Simmonds
Leier-Filppula-one of the useless stiffs - BiggE
Could help in different ways:
TK plays with better linemates breaks out
Patrick and G find chemistry
Weal's speed + Laughton's puck hawking with Train scrapping for pieces nice
Fourth line well just break even would be nice or plus 1 better

I've seen a couple people lobby for Knobloch.
What does he bring that Hak doesn't? Lot of similarities on the surface, mainly a young guy who wins in non-pro leagues. It's another largely unproven choice, so why is he "up and coming"?
Serious question. Don't know much about him - Giroux_Is_God
I'd promote him on an interim basis and see how he does.
It's basically the unknown versus the known failure. |

Konecny doesn't need to go to the AHL. He needs more time playing with a playmaker that can both draw checking and create openings and distribute the puck with the right timing in the right areas. That will go a long way towards accelerating Konecny's development. |

Of course it is. There are many ways a coach goes about that with a young player. One tool is limiting ice time. Blasphemy! |

I would probably roll something like this:
Giroux - Couturier - Konecny
Simmonds - Patrick - Voracek
Weal - Filppula - Raffl
Leier - Laughton - Weise/Lehtera |

I wonder how long until Hextall really starts thinking about possibly moving Simmonds or others. Do you wait for the trade deadline? I think with Simmonds interest will be there no matter when or if you make him available. |

Worth a try although would probably have to swap sides with Voracek and Simmonds. |

I don't see Simmonds being moved right now unless it's an offer Hextall couldn't refuse. Hextall still thinks this a playoff team (delusional) and will make trades that help in the future but won't hurt the present team. I don't think they're a playoff team as they've been shut out 23% of the games this season.

Friedman and others have said Simmonds is far and away the flyers most valuable trade piece excluding the obvious people who wouldn't be traded for the world (provorov). I think you see what you could get for him but you don't make a deal unless it's a wow. More than schenn a lot more. |

to trade a piece like Simmonds the Flyers need to be playing better, you cant trade Simmonds and you for sure cant trade when the value is low due to the team being in Chaos. |

The state of the team wouldnt have any effect on the value of Simmonds. Simmonds would command interest from many teams, and that would drive a bidding war. All the Flyers would have to do is say he is available.
I would think the Flyers should be asking for a 2018 1st, 2019 1st, and a young top 9 forward, and a prospect forward.
I think they should settle on a 2018 1st, 2018 2nd, and a prospect forward with top 6 potential. Plus a conditional 2019 1st if they make the cup finals. |

I would need at least 1 NHL ready young forward back in any trade of Simmonds.

Yet for some reason he should be the 2nd line center |
