Exactly, FFS, he was the only forward other than the top line generating any chances at all against the Bruins. Hak is not doing this kid any favors.
- BiggE

And if hasktol is going to remain the coach and bench him I'd rather he get 20 a night in the ahl. I don't get why that's so asinine. Konecny not going to develop playing 8 a night and being afraid to make a single mistake

The thought is completely predicated on how he's being handled in the nhl. Now if a new coach handles him differently or hasktol gets his head out his arse than I wouldn't be talking about this

I've seen a couple people lobby for Knobloch.

What does he bring that Hak doesn't? Lot of similarities on the surface, mainly a young guy who wins in non-pro leagues. It's another largely unproven choice, so why is he "up and coming"?

Serious question. Don't know much about him

Konecny is rated a bit high. He’s still way too easily knocked off of the puck. He reminds me a lot of Scotty Upshall. Hopefully he has better upside.
- Pixote Andolini

Hopefully? Really?

He could certainly learn to be more efficient with some of his movement, he still is out there doing it with Filppula and usually Weise or Raffl. I don't think there are any nets scared of being abuse from either of those trios

They’re playing scared. Scared to make a mistake which is an awful way to play. Patrick was sat most of the game after that Spooner breakaway gift. You gotta send the kids back out there when they make mistakes. Let them make ammends and learn from it.
- Pixote Andolini

This. Exactly this.

These kids have been playing hockey since they could walk. They know what they did. They know what mistakes were made the moment they made them. Get em right back out there. Especially in this situation. Benching your youth during a supposed youth movement doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

He was seen as a progressive coach who likes a lot of movement and believes in mobile defenseman who get up ice. I personally think he's a little too green to be the head coach just yet but I know he's getting the Jason Garrett treatment from hexy at the moment.

Knoblach is supposed to be more "offensive minded" and at least what he has done for the Flyers so far is at least gone through reviews of certain types of plays with an analysis of how much a certain play ususally works (i.e. passes behind the net result in goals x% of the time vs wraparound y%). He is supposed to value that kind of thing...SKILL. His junior teams had big names like McDavid and Strome (D), but I would hope a team coached by him would focus more on getting the puck into the zone with possession.

Speaking strictly from a "this guy is about to be our NHL coach" standpoint...Hakstol was supposed to have all 5 guys working together...defense low in the zone and cycling...obviously involved in the offense with shots. The defense hasn't been as involved as I hoped initially outside of point shots.

Well Hak, you've got nothing to lose at this point. Time to go radical and shake things up:

TK-Coots-Voracek
Giroux-Patrick-Raffl
Weal-Laughton-Simmonds
Leier-Filppula-one of the useless stiffs

Swap Raffl and Simmonds and I think you've got something that could really work.

See TK making a series of good moves shakes free pass to a slug who:
A: Misses pass entirely
B: Misses net entirely and even misses the glass into the netting
C: Shoots the puck dead center into the Goalies crest
D: receive pass Fumble puck no shot on goal.
