Why would any Flyer Fan have a bias against his or her favourite teams coach?? Fans have their own thoughts on decisions he makes or based on how his team is playing....it’s not biased that many think he is not a very good coach, it’s based on the fact that the team blows. I’m always amused when you think your thought process is somehow “informed” compared to others on this board. It’s not.

Nothing wrong with thinking that he's not a good coach with the way the team is playing right now. That's fair game and comes with the territory. It's when nothing the coach does is correct, he's called a moron, and other derogatory terms, then that's where the bias comes in. Like that doesn't exist and nobody has ever formed a bias against a player or coach! LOL, In comparison to that, yea my thought process is more informed.

Do they remain in this system at all times ? Or do they change based on the time of game or based on the score ? As well if things are not going well do they employ a more aggressive forecheck? If they get a lead do they employ a more passive forecheck, asking the d to play back and stay above the circle and refrain from the pinch in the offensive zone....as well has Hak changed his core system since his arrival?

The lengthy slumps during all three of his seasons are really a concern. I fully understand he's never had a great roster to work with and I thought he ran a great camp and the team looked fine in October but we're getting to the point of another Hextall has to do something moment.

I hate these west coast start times.

If you had played it would go much easier....anyone can read about a sysyem on the internet and regurgitate it...the true answer is why a team uses it when they do. As well do the Flyers have the right players for the system they try to employ. I understand what he's saying he's just doing it in such an arrogant way that nobody listens to him. Gms and coaches are easy to criticise cause nobody gets it right all the time. Hextall and hasktol likely see all the good and bad on the team as we do they just have different opinions on how to fix it. I don't think hextall is blind. He's handling situation best way he knows how.

He is now too old and therefore has nothing to learn from being benched would be my suspicion

The truth is that Hakstol doesn't bench young players if they make a mistake and for being creative. That's simply not true. There is a pattern to how Hakstol handles younger players. If there is a pattern of repeated mistakes that aren't corrected or when he thinks a young player is struggling he will limit their ice time and or sit them down. Any time Hakstol has used the tool of ice time to bench or scratch a young player, he has been criticized for it. As if that's never allowed and isn't a common tactic with NHL coaches. I watched Terry Murray bench Eric Lindros when he was the most dominant player on the ice. Another example is how Torotorella rode Lacavalier when he was young and later Lecavalier credited that tough treatment for making him a better player. Hitchcock with Modano and on and on. It's part of player development and it's something that young players sometimes need to happen.
