Considering how many in here were outraged when we traded him for Desharnais (who produced what we needed and more), I'm surprised that there isn't a more positive feeling.

Listen, I'm not saying he's amazing or that he's gonna fix our blueline, but a low event blueliner is a great compliment to our other #7 (Auvitu) and gives us more options. Maybe it doesn't do it, but as long as it pushes Gryba down I'm happy.

As far as I'm concerned, he's not a defensive liability, he can skate, he can move the puck and isn't prone to taking bad penalties. He is a more all around player than Gryba or Auvitu. If anything it makes those two expendable and they should be.

I’d rather the Oilers target someone like Simmonds. Dude is slumping hard right now, as are the Flyers. It would be unpopular as (frank), but I’d like to see a deal where Draisaitl and picks are traded for Simmonds and one of the Flyers top end young D prospects/players. I can’t see Simmonds making anything near 8.5 on his next contract, so there’d be cap savings as well which means we could keep Nuge.

Doubt anyone would agree or be happy about such a move however.

I would totally trade Drai for Simmonds... Drai is overpaid by 1.5-2 million- thats alot of money for a guy that obviously can only put out as McDavid's passenger and he plays small... I used to love the guy but now that he is getting paid top player type money- he doesnt give a poop anymore- takes plays off etc... Its pathetic.
