I love how we went through 2 years of a last place finish, 3 years of a lottery pick where we could potentially pick #1, never picked #1 and now people think this is a stealth tank year and we will win the lottery and draft Dahlin.

Talk about delusional.

Dahlin is a smart two-way defenseman who can play in any situation. He is a terrific skater and stick handler who can rush the puck, or join the attack in a hurry. Impressive agility makes him a good one-on-one defender. He has fine passing ability, and altough not a big-time bomber, he has an accurate shot from the point. Not one to shy away from the physical game, Dahlin is an accomplished open-ice hitter. A young player, he must learn when to make the simpler play. Adding more weight should help him in board battles and around the crease

One was picked 2 and one was picked 8.

There's a bigger dropoff in talent from the #1 pick to the #2 pick than there is from the # 2 pick to the #60 pick.

There is a reason Reinhart and Eichel didn't go first, remember that. Our team which settles for mediocrity and participation trophies got exactly what they deserved in those picks.

No, they should have tanked with dignity like Edmonton and Toronto so the NHL rewarded them the #1 overall

How do u get that message across when SO MANY are underperforming?

Moving one guy who is, doesn’t get your point across if we still have 12 more guys who also are...
and ya can’t trade everyone

U just wanna shake things up just to do something
I prefer moves to be made if they’re the right ones to BUILD the team correctly

LSD in my bathroom curled up in the bathtub with the shower running on me usually makes me think I'm in a Bushwick Warehouse with a bunch of beatnik bohemians, and I come out feeling great either way.

Why do anything to jeapodize a top pick. Patience is needed, so is a #1 defenseman.
They are rarely traded, so you need to "earn" it.

Saw a t-shirt today at the store. It says:

My two favorite teams are Buffalo and anyone who beats New England.

I said that right there is evidence of how much we accept a losing culture because

1.) It acknowledges Buffalo can't beat a Division rival that regularly loses to the other 2 teams in the division

and

2.) That they're bandwagon fans who will root for whatever team is hot

and

3.) Our losing culture is well-known, accepted and "funny"

it's just up to him

Svechnikov ( imo ) might not be taken at 2nd with the" russian" thing

I dunno, we missed out mcjesus sure it stings. We picked the wrong guy in Reinhart, that stings too.

But the team that got mcdavid and picked the right guy in 2014....They're terrible too. As much as these mistakes are pointed, this isn't where it went wrong for the organization.

Put Mcjesus and Draisaitl on this team in place of Eichel and Reinhart and you've still got a D-core whose value in production and cap is worse than what some 8 year old could put together.

The true horror is that he didn't just leave the defence unfinished. He spent actual assets and dollars to make it markedly worse than it was before. How the (frank) is that even possible?

The Russian factor died when he went to the USHL and his brother committed to Junior hockey before him.

The risk factor is almost non existent
