You sure about that? - hereticpride
I think he's confusing what the players we have now could be vs what they actually are. This team isn't close to that team. The only place we have better depth is on defense and our top 6 doesn't make up for the 2010 lack of a third pair. |

Add Carle, Coburn, JVR, Gagne. Leino had a big playoff. - MJL
True. I totally had a brain fart about who else was on that team for a minute. |

They’ve already named more than half the active roster, how many more do you need? |

I’d like to see any none huge flyer fan name 12 players currently on the flyers. I like what depth this roster could have/be in the next couple of years, but right now they don’t compare to the cup run team |

I've been down on the coaching staff for a while and felt they should have been changed last offseason. The same problems that existed early in Hak's tenure still exist today. We have a 2.5 year sample size and the team has played at a 90 point pace over that time. That gets you the 18-20th best record. It's hard to look at that as a success considering the team has made a concerted effort to be competitive (playoff caliber). The team still struggles to score at even strength, they still can't kill penalties and the power play is still predictable.
I would be more open to keeping him if the younger players were showing progression under his tutelage, but each of them seems to get completely lost for long periods of time. I understand that young players struggle, but I haven't really seen any of them adding skills or removing bad habits of their games. They all seem like the same players they've been. |

Combined?
Edit: I’m seeing 46 combined, 59 of you count the playoffs |

The only reason it worked was because the team got rattled and stopped playing defense. In reality, the hack-a-Ben is a loser's bet. |

He needs to go. I’m torn whether the best time is now or the end of the season.
Either way, I think Hex is very loyal to this guy. He might be here longer than we all think. GM tying his fate to his HC may bite him in the ass eventually too. We shall see.

I worry that fans expectations are unreasonable. Young players are normally terrible. Towns has a ton of potential, but is still awful defensively. |

They were playing so fast early in the year. Where did that go? What happened? Did the league just adjust to them?
To me they are not giving the full out effort that they were playing with early in the year. They are not skating hard to the corners, not backchecking as hard. When they don’t go full out, they really struggle |
