Yes but its still a crapshoot after the top 5 normally. I would like at least another 1st rounder this year make it happen jimbo
- Bettmanhatesus

That would be great. Honestly, I would love a d-man or even two in the first round. I just know we need pretty much everything at this point, so BPA. It would be amazing to get another pick, especially if it was a lotto pick somehow.

Just read about DD.
What a bummer.
He was my fave underdog Canuck this year (as i'm sure he was too many).

Good to go out on top though with that torrid scoring pace!
He'll be missed.

Thanks so much Carol and yes it does suck about DD...he was a trooper out there salt of the earth kind of guy. Will be missed.

But it doesn't change our reality. Injuries are starting to be a factor and we just don't have scoring depth or proper goaltending to make that push. Our D contributes little to nothing from the back end in terms of points, just eating minutes.

We have had some past luck vs Rinne however...still looking at 6-2 Preds or close to it. They are just too deep all over that lineup. Hopefully Boeser gets back on the scoresheet.

The loss of DD might be just the thing that the tankers were hoping for....

I believe so.

Sutter is shorter-term and Guds for a couple weeks iirc.

Sedins wont be going anywhere, and certainly wont fetch a top 4 d man on one of the most bargain friebdly contracts in the league.

I think it's just reality in todays NHL. Injuries seem to hit teams hard around the Dec-Jan time and the Canucks always seem to get trashed with injuries. DD, Sutter and Guddy out all at the same time is a huge climb for us. Add to that a few more starters might be injured in the next few weeks and viola...tanknation is appearing lol

Speaking of drafting - what are the odds? First Dahlen, now Lind...

Crappy for him! Was looking forward to watching him at the world juniors! Hamilton says he's cleared to play but they've chose to wait and see.

Very sad to hear about DD. True, he was not here all that long but he was 100% here every minute of every game,

Special Player.

The ramification is this....Guddy needs to be traded today! He has a bum hand which will be tested more and more as he will be our heavyweight answering the bell.

Trade him before he injures himself and walks as a ufa.

Does Gaunce fight?

...after a little googling...the answer appears to be 1 NHL fight, a year ago.

He might have to step this up...and so will JV.

Benning, speaking to media, said Canucks will not pursue a “Dorsett type” player, the void will be filled internally. “This gives guys a chance to play more and step up.”
