Monitoring his energy levels throughout the season will be interesting as he adjusts to a much longer schedule.

Does Dorsett get the final year of his contract if he is technically retiring?

It's be nice to see him get that money.

He gets paid for this year and next year

Is he technically retiring though? I assume he's on LTIR and then retires once his deal is up, no?

Damn! I don't watch very many Canucks games, but I always noticed Dorsett when he was on the ice. He was fantastic at his role and should be very proud of what he accomplished.

Just when the fan base turns on the nucks after a bad game they turn it around and win with a solid effort, I expect nothing different tonight

I really don't think the fanbase is that fickle, they're fickle like every fanbase but I doubt people are thinking "playoffs!" after a couple of wins and then the same people thinking "omg Dahlin!" after a couple of losses.

It's more like either side of the fanbase gets louder when they're original thoughts on the team are looking better during that given time. You've got the anti-tank crowd(who think the team is decent) who gets louder after a couple of wins and the pro-tank(who think the team sucks) crowd who gets louder after losses.

Then eventually around January, one side gets proven wrong and casually jumps to the floating ship and pretends like nothing every happened.

Looks like he will go on LTIR and still get paid his full salary until his deal expires at the end of next year.

Speaking of drafting - what are the odds? First Dahlen, now Lind...

BPA. Svechnikov would be an incredible add and changes the top6 for the next 10 years. I'm all for a d-man in one of the first two rounds though. Always am every year. Love the nashville model. Calgary has more quality d-prospects than us, thats just sad.

How does anyone know who the BPA is, if only we could tell the future, barzel looks better than eichel at the moment.

Well there are scouts for a reason, they make a list. You check it twice, see if any have been naughty (or nice) and then proceed to pick the best pick with the information you have. It's not easy, but it's what good teams do. It's also what everyone does in almost every profession- make a determination based on as much information and evaluation as you can find.

Yes but its still a crapshoot after the top 5 normally. I would like at least another 1st rounder this year make it happen jimbo
