No worries our players will let apposing players punch guys like D Sedin in the face over and over, no consequence. That was a while ago, but we have zero toughness currently. That doesn't make it easy if you make the playoffs, as we know. - VanHockeyGuy
Meh, this is such stupid rhetoric. Who just won back to back cups? Do you know who lead the team in PIMs in both the regular season and playoffs? |

Dorsett is gone, Gudbranson probably is as well. There is no grit, zero. - VanHockeyGuy

You don't like fighting in hockey do you? - VanHockeyGuy
It’s not about fighting in hockey, it’s about petty retribution for a guy playing the right way. Why don’t they fight after getting scored on, that’s way more impactful then a body check. No one should be maligned for refusing to fight because they made a clean check. |

there's some truth in the day to day picture.
i don't think that teams are taking runs at the canucks or their young players because a perceived lack of toughness. if and when that happens, bring in the goons. i doubt that happens though.
players need to take a hit, brock included.
i'm not worried about (playoff) toughness right now. that's a concern but not the primary one. |

i'm sure he's going to be full on kadri.
i'm not sure dorsett or gudbranson would do anything about it. he's a burrows/kesler type. we all know that toughness on the other side is no deterrent.
i'm sure jake will try to go kadri on the leafs. we'll see what happens. |

I would rather retribution fighting than those staged fights between team heavyweights. Glad we don’t see that much anymore.
Sometimes retribution can be the result of emotions getting the better of someone. I think that is acceptable considering the environment NHLers play in. |

I don’t like two tough guys coming out on que and dropping the gloves because that’s their job. When a check isn’t a clean hit, and someone steps up “hold them accountable” i’m ok with that. Mostly the serial dirty players don’t like to fight, and I would be much more on board with making that player pay for the spears, slashes, slewfoot that largely go un penalized, especially during playoffs. |

absolutely right!! ....but there was nothing better than the build up of the "heavyweight championship bouts."
i remember the build up for crowder vs probert or probie vs domi etc.
ahhhh, the golden days of the enforcer. gone like the dinosaur! |
