Trading for him changes nothing, this team is still bad due to bad players let alone bad contracts.

Slight edge goes to A.

Love the way Rochester is coming together.

Last time that happened we still ended up with ZERO Stanley Cups and a soft, perimeter team that ran it's two best players since the French connection out of town because they refused to offer a contract when they would have taken it, instead, offered it to a guy who all but said he was going to sign in NYR and then tried to call up the one we stood up and take them to the same restaurant but with a coupon for free appetizers.

How pumped are you for $1 long islands at Applebee's for the ENTIRE month of December Bro?

Yeah, just like how we all overvalue our players.

Listen I'm not saying he's the second coming. But he would instantly be our 2nd best defenseman, it would be a move to shore up our weakest position (no, it isn't goaltender), while managing to flip a guy or two in the process.

Ok. Maybe Anaheim didn't want Kane and maybe Botterill didn't want Vatanen... But our lack of urgency across this entire organization, from Pegula down to the fanbase, is sickening.

Patience? Trust the process?

I've got 50 years of history that says all of this is the loveliest smoke that's ever been blown up an ass.

BTW: Nice to have you back around, 89.

Trust me I see what you are saying however, it would be a stepping stone in the right direction and as of now, he wouldn't make this team any better.

People aren't going to like this but, Eichel changing his attitude will go along way with this team and I will leave it at that from what I was told. I seen it first hand also when they were here, he's not a leader as of now. Players don't like to lose but veteran players like it a lot less when the team can't seem to get on the right track and there "face of the team and star player" is acting like a child after losing a game...........again.

Thanks for the the welcome back.

might not agree with some of it, but the passion's there and coming through loud and clear

All it took was Sami Vatanen to bring the democrats and republicans together!

I'm pretty sure everyone on Earth can see this.

Except Eichel himself.

Someone said Alexi Yashin yesterday...

In the end, they will get the product they asked for.

Unlike us.

Depends on who they end up with.

Last year? He had an ankle thing where he came back too soon and missed more time. I had him in my 20 team, 20 player league. And yes, also the mumps.

But let's not pretend he's the picture of health. He misses tons of time. He misses more time than Kane and we all know how much you bag on Kane because of it.

It's a peculiar trade, they may have wanted henrique specifically for some reason. Cause off the top of my head there are at least 5 or 6 teams that could've offered a similar deal using better NHL players.

I just don't get it. The past 2 seasons, the majority of people on here are going on about how we need to trade for Vatanen or a player like him...

Then another team lands him for the definition of mediocre, I climb up on the peace bridge, and everyone says "He's comparable to Gorges" "Sucks at defense" and, my favorite "Ceiling is top-4".

I mean, really? Are we really gonna flip that switch like that? We gonna act like the majority of the message boards wasn't all for Vatanen for almost 2 years and now he's "Meh".

My problem is, that other teams, like New Jersey, have done small things to improve their team over the past 2 or 3 years.

We buy into a rebuild. Then fire our GM. Then hire LaFontaine. He wants to keep Miller and re-tool. But hires Tim Murray. Who wants to blow it up. LaFontaine cries and goes home (probably a pedophile), GMTM absolutely blows it to smithereens, then immediately, Pegula: "fire those involved less than 2 years later", hire a new guy, make some lateral moves (Ennis/Foligno for Pominville/Scandella) and NOW is the time I'm supposed to keep my cool?

Losing both Drury and Briere sucked.

Everything is different but the name Buffalo Sabres:

New owner
New gm
New coaches
All different players
Even different uniforms

The constant re-build sucks . Hopefully jbotts doesn't bail out on it and trade prospects and picks to chase the playoffs.

Need to hit on our first round pick. Murray was 1 for 3. Eichel was a lock, but he did put us in a position to draft him.
That will be gmtm's legacy: He outsmarted the other gms at trying to lose. That was classic, trading away both the goalies, clinched eichel

I think only sabres fans with high expectations thought this. They made decent moves, nothing that actually made the team better short term though.

NJ at least looked to be on the up after landing hischier

Do you think Botterill has had to many concussions to be in the GM position?

I was told that having a billionaire owner would mean no limits on money spent trying to make this organization not a joke.

I was told his money would improve the team facilities and that it would draw marquee free agents to Buffalo.

I was told that Buffalo is "Hockey Heaven".

I was told "Lindy ain't goin' nowhere" and asked of Regier: "What's he done wrong?"

I was told the passion of the owner and fans would infect the team.

I was told McDavid/Eichel was a win/win, even if one was clearly the better player, the other was tiers above his contemporaries so they were both 'generational'. A "Crosby/Ovechkin" 2.0

I was told Buffalo was experiencing a "Renaissance".

Lies.
