Have i ever actually used those words? His injury history is maybe like 5% of why I don't want him here long term

His value won't plummet on the market cause he's "injury prone" it's cause he's a winger and a pending UFA.

Edit: It won't plummet, just not as high as some people expect

I meant his value to the team and why they shouldn't sign him.

Which is why I'm slowly falling out of love with the Sabres organization.

I can never quit on the Bills even if I wanted but the Sabres? You done fooled around too many times behind my back without a condom and I feel dirty even looking at you.

Did we seriously not just trade for Vatanen?

Oh, my god. This team is incompetent. Kane > Henrique at this point, idgaf what anyone from anywhere says.

An annual 40 point guy just got a defenseman we should have gotten a year ago.

(frank), I hate this team.

Maybe the Ducks didn’t wanna give him up for a rental

I'm starting a petition to hire the great Tim Connolly to coach our pp.
- washedup20

I would sign him and only give him PP minutes. I bet he still has some juice left

The list of players that Botteril could have traded for is getting long. The only ones I really fault him for are Johansson and now Vatanen

Vatanen maybe dunno what the story behind that is and why they wanted henrique but it's whatever now

MOJO had a no trade. list of 8 teams he could say no to. Id bet quite a bit the sabres were on there.

Also, im dead convinced he was aiming for a high pick this year.

Fair point. But I also would have bet NJ would have been on that list too. I think before this season started, the Sabres looked like a team ready to take the next step and maybe not as low on most unwanted lists. But I guess we will never know

I think only sabres fans with high expectations thought this. They made decent moves, nothing that actually made the team better short term though.

NJ at least looked to be on the up after landing hischier

Seriously this is turned into a race thing?

Get outta here with that crap

First of all Henrique plays center

Second of all he has a year left on his contract and isn't a straight up rental like Kane is.

Third of all he has 2 50 point seasons (Kane has 1)

Fourth of all he is more durable than Kane

Fifth of all he is 1.25 million per season cheaper

6th of all .619 to .564 ppg (50.75 points per 82 compared to 46.25 per 82 point difference better for Kane but he hasn't played a full season since the short lock out season)

7th of all both Kane and Henrique have the same amount of 30 goal season (1) 25 plus goal seasons (1) and 20 goal seasons (1) so lets not act like Kane is this much better player.

Henrique is no slouch, he has a full season left on his contract at a very reasonable cap hit, he plays center, and even though he's stayed out of trouble Henrique doesn't have the history of off ice issues that Kane still has.

Maybe the Ducks didn't want Reinhart with him being due a raise, maybe the Ducks have seen Girgensons fall all the damn time, and maybe just maybe they didn't want to send a good defensemen for a player they are going to lose on July 1st.

Meh. I think most saw the Sabres taking a step forward. Maybe not playoffs but a team on the rise. They did revamp their defense (even tho it did not work). And the whole "Jack Eichel will be fully healthy" thing. not to mention hiring a coach that specialized in defense.

But yea...none of that really worked out

again, i think only overly optimistic fans saw this.

Like the amount of people who thought antipin was coming in and playing like a top4 bordered on hysterical. That+ the assumption that Bylsma was literally the devil and the sole reason everyone sucked and that Housley was the defence whisperer. I just want them to trim the fat off this team first. Then they can start adding some real muscle.

To be fair, the revamped defense basically hasn't played yet this season.

So wait, you're saying Adam Henrique is better than Kane? May I get an example of a player who is worse than Kane? (Sabres players don't count)

Excuse my sarcastic, snotty undertones, it's been a long day.

Sam Reinhart is worse than Kane .

I mean its easy to laugh at now. But its not like it wasnt a possibility. We did also add Scandella who has not performed very well thus far. This is about as bad as this season could go so far with the exception of a major injury.

But I agree with you for the most part. I thought we didnt do enough to add to our forward group and I was correct.

Even Gerbe saw it coming. I think the forward group will be okay long term though
