Did we seriously not just trade for Vatanen?

Oh, my god. This team is incompetent. Kane > Henrique at this point, idgaf what anyone from anywhere says.

An annual 40 point guy just got a defenseman we should have gotten a year ago.

(frank), I hate this team.

- BeadyEyedDouche

3 things:

- You're late

- Drew Doughty is better than Sami Vatanan

- They have sweet jerseys though, right?

maybe Anaheim didn't want reinhart...Henrique has more of a history in the league and it includes seasons of 30, 25 and 20 goals in three of the past four years
- Michael Pachla

I dunno man, not saying you have one, but I don't get the love affair for Henrique. He's hit 50 points ONCE. Career, FO% is below 50%. Having a mediocre at best season (24gp 14p). Only 1 season left on his deal.

People lambaste Kane because he's only scored 30 goals once.

Ok, they didn't want Reinhart... but they weren't exactly hurting at center, either. Including all of their injured players, they have ELEVEN CENTERS on their NHL roster.

What the Ducks did or did not want doesn't concern me. What concerns me is that a sought-after defenseman who would instantly upgrade our blue-line, was had for much less than what we have to offer.

Yeah, sweet Winter Classic jerseys. Our current uniform set is atrocious.

If we can get Doughty, great, but that's a fat contract and we have a lot of those already, so unless we can dump Kane + Moulson/Okposo/Gorges, then it doesn't really help us at all.

Last year? He had an ankle thing where he came back too soon and missed more time. I had him in my 20 team, 20 player league. And yes, also the mumps.

But let's not pretend he's the picture of health. He misses tons of time. He misses more time than Kane and we all know how much you bag on Kane because of it.

- Wetbandit1

he's not by any means but he doesnt need a 40 game grace period just to look semi competent. Also, he can actually play defence.

It's pretty obvious that they're just riding it out and hoping for a high draft choice

It's a peculiar trade, they may have wanted henrique specifically for some reason. Cause off the top of my head there are at least 5 or 6 teams that could've offered a similar deal using better NHL players.

If Wal-Mart sells my favorite cookie for 3 dollars and Tops sells it for 4, how am I to know unless I go to both Tops and Wal-Mart?

I'm completely disregarding the Ducks end of this. Our GM, our roster, our team have the assets required to have acquired this player and I don't want to hear you try to spin this six ways to Sunday, because it's absolutely true.

We. Didn't.

And now, Botterill has officially fallen from my good-graces, and this coming from a guy who hated GMTM getting fired but wanted to give the "new guy" his chance.

Regardless of anything, with the roster we have, the people within the organization, there is absolutely no excuse to be in last place. None.

Why the (frank) would any team want Henrique for any specific reason? There is nothing exceptional about him as a player. He isn't a faceoff specialist, he isn't a great penalty killer, he isn't a sniper, he isn't a play-maker and he was groomed within one of the most obnoxious, yet effective, defensive systems within all of hockey.

He is a ROR-lite and that's saying a lot, because you know how many of us hopped aboard the "ROR-Hate Hype-Train" recently...

This trade is truly, miraculously, baffling.

I honestly don't get it either but looking at who they chose to give up it kind of looks like they targeted him specifically. Their in house scouts and analytics people must think he's the ideal fit.

I'd like him, but it's funny that you find excuses for him missing time, but Kane, who misses less is injury prone and his value plummets because of it.

Which is why I'm slowly falling out of love with the Sabres organization.

I can never quit on the Bills even if I wanted but the Sabres? You done fooled around too many times behind my back without a condom and I feel dirty even looking at you.

So wait, you're saying Adam Henrique is better than Kane? May I get an example of a player who is worse than Kane? (Sabres players don't count)

Excuse my sarcastic, snotty undertones, it's been a long day.
