What exactly has Versteeg's hands and playmaking ability done for the Flames this year? Hathaway has shown that he has a decent offensive game this year and brings everything else you would want from a bottom six guy.

The team also isn't lacking in old, slow, experienced players. There's zero reason to have Versteeg in the lineup.

Was close to ice level last night and focused on him. He obviously had a great game but he was so impressive. Uses his size so well and so smart. Would not be shocked to see him move past Backs and that is no knock on Backs. Love seeing the chemistry he's developing with Bennett.
