Yep - tend to be reoccurring and take more and more time to heal with age.

Whatever it is with Corey, let's hope it's minor.

IIRC, Bernie will have to clear waivers to go back to Rockford when Crow comes back. What do we do if he plays well?

News of Crawford not good . Know Fors berg has played good but so far here and in Columbus just can't seem to get wins , not blaming him but it's odd who his team can't pull out the W when he is in net.
Winnipeg starting to look like a powerhouse alot of analysis have been saying they would become. Nashville going to get stronger . St Louis may slip a bit but still think they will be in top 3 in the division.
Hope Bowman and Q stick with the youth , in fact plays them more.

I know Toews an Seabs not doing well but it is ridiculous that some think they are not putting in 100 % effort. Unfortunately time and injuries have caught up to them . Yes I wish the contracts were not as long and the cap hits not so high but that dosn't mean these guys are not doing everything they can. I think they have proven the want to win and without them we wouldn't have the last three cups.
If they make the playoffs anything can happen but I don't believe this is a cup team, and improvement will depend on youth so keep playing them in all situations.

Vinny? Jets win again and take over 1st in the Central.
- EnzoD

Yep. Vinnie with the OT win which is good because he turned a puck over for a goal in the 2nd.

And yes, Winnipeg is good. I'm not sold on
Hellebuyck being their main guy to take them on a long playoff run but their team might be gfood enoygh that it may not matter who's in net.

So if CC is out an extended period do Hawks trade for another net minder or go with Forsberg/Berube and hope for the best? Awful time for this injury to CC with Hawks barely alive in the west.

What assets do the Hawks have that they can trade for a goalie that would be better than Forsberg?
I'm not saying that Forsberh will be, or is, great. But, can the Hawks afford to give up the assets they have for a short term "fix"?

Hawks are average to best, squeak in if they get in the playoffs, their best player so far is out, why would they even consider that moving young assets for a guy, who is just a guy.

Pretty sure you'd be hard pressed to get better than Forsberg, he really has looked good, better than i expected.

Need to realize the Hawks are probably past the "trade your assets for a guy or two is going to put you over the top".

They are closer and probably are to the point where you stop losing younger assets, and see who you can move to dump money and gain assets. If not, in a year, or two you'll be the Red Wings, if they aren't already

So whats the deal with Crawford why is everyone acting like he's gonna be out for a long time? I mean he could be back in a couple weeks, right? And i think we've got a pretty good backup goalie to keep things afloat.

I was thinking about looking at those toews stats..

its worse than that: in 12 games vs WC foes he has been a complete non-factor in scoring with 1G and 3As, 1 multipoint game vs AZ with 2 assists...

that is beyond brutal...and don't he and Q are not aware of this...; he plays with top 6 talent with kane, ADB plus pp time...UNACCEPTABLE...SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS GUY

so he goes...so does the team 2-5-1 vs divisional opponents with 3.14 GA

- bogiedoc

Hey Bogie...the reality is you have three guys between Panik, Seabs and Toews taking up almost 20mil in cap space. Where do you go from here with a fairly stagnant cap? And while Seabs and Toews are warriors that have helped this team win 3 Cups in the cap era - it certainly appears their best years are behind them sadly. #7's decline has been alarming so far this season.

And 19s numbers speak for themselves. He hasn't seemed right since the 2015 Finals. Both contracts are killers and I can't see any team wanting either player at those cap hits. The other thing those contracts have done is deplete the Hawks depth and allowed the rest of the pack to catch up.

Meanwhile Panik had a breakout last year last season and after getting paid has fallen back to earth.

And now you've lost Crawford - for who knows how long. 50 has been this team's MVP this season. Forsberg has been solid, but is he ready to carry the load?

We'll see how they fare over the next few games here, but it's becoming more apparent that this team is a long shot to make the playoffs.

Panik is really on pace to see last season’s production: fast starts in both seasons, then long droughts....

Last season: 6 goals in the first 6 games, then no goals for the next 18.
This season: 5 goals in the first 9 games, then no goals for the next 16 (and counting).

He ended up with 22 for the season last year.

Seeing the Dallas highlights, you could tell he had a groin pull. He had zero explosion and his movements were way slow. Groin pulls are tough injuries to overcome. If he is out 10 games, it could really doom the season. CC has kept us afloat. Unless this team can find its D game and lock it down, Forsberg might be in trouble. Its not his fault either. This team is a schit show at the moment trying to protect its own zone.

I'm prepared for a Long Season for all the reasons people have reviewed in sickening detail. Toews-Seabrook-Trade History-Cap Hell-Hossa - Crawford Injury on and on.

25 Games is a good yard stick of who has talent and who doesn't.

I expect the West to unfold as it has so far.
Jets-Preds-Blues at the Top,

Dallas-Chicago fighting it out for 4th and the Right to play LA or maybe the Ducks in Round 1

5th Place Team out in the First round against one of the Big Three in the Central
Jets-Blues-Preds.

I think the Hawks for the First time in a long time will be sellers at the Deadline.
I think Seabs gets packaged with a young DMan in the System and a couple of million retained. Maybe a couple of forwards but not #12.

I think Q retires in the off season and I now think Stan stays even though I would be ok with a Front Office shake down,

The Rebuild starts at the Draft and it's going to be Ugly.

Even though the season has a long way to go (especially for Vegas), what do you think happens if Vegas makes the playoffs and the Hawks don't?

Hmmmm Q is gone. Stan possibly moved out. Major roster changes. Fabulous run from 2009 to 2015 with 3 Cups. Will have to find a way to move Seabs and DK.

The big question for Vegas
They have something like 11 UFAs on the team.

If they are in the playoffs at the DL do they move them or play it out and lose them July1?

I think they move them.

Time to implode this ship to a certain extent as the current formula is not a winning formula, proof is in the results, everyone sees it yet we drudge on, we have some good building blocks but the big brass need to move on from the core, it's over, get over it....dump those two albatross of contracts (7/19) and see what we can get even if it's absolutely zero and have to sweeten the pot then do it then at least financially you can RE invest and start fresh to a certain degree.....otherwise same song and dance only worse as these two boat anchors get worse.....yeah they try, yeah they won us cups but other than going down memory lane they are dragging this team down both financially and performance wise....no way JT should be on the 1st line or anywhere near the PP but day in day out there he is on the top line producing like a third line player at best and this has been going on for over two years...and oh yeah making 10.5....something has to be done or else we will be the red wings for the next 4 years or more....ugh....i though we were done with that type of hockey.

Never popular decisions but we are going back to hockey obscurity for a long time if changes are not done....just saying.

WOW !! What a bunch of surrender Monkey on here .HAWKS lost a game to Dallas THEY probably should not have ,we see now our goalie was playing through probable groin strain and the team had a little let down after the Preds game ,it still went to OT and HAWKS got a point .
They have been playing much better of late .Losing Crow hurts , but injuries happen it's no reason to start a rebuild .
The league as Buttman wanted is parity almost across the board . Almost any team can win any given night . Just look at the around the league any night .
I not a fan Of Q and think a change there could be beneficial, but hey he is still tinkering with things .And for all he has already done ,give him the benefit of the doubt he is going to the HOF .
Win tonight and all will be right till Sunday .
And another thing BRING BACK VINNY !!!!!!

19 on pace for 52 points in 82 games. This team struggles scoring and you can look no further than 19's line as a big reason for that. It's rough to see 19+7 fall off a cliff in play and impact on a shift to shift basis. What will Bowman do?

Here is a question say the hawks do miss the playoffs, which I think they will I would rather them missing the playoff instead of being outsted again in the 1st round and chance at getting a top 10 pick. What happens if they do miss the playoffs does wirtz and mcdougnh have the balls to fire Q and Bowmans, which I thought they should've after the Nashville seris, and start the rebuild. Do the hawks trade kieth and kane because between those 2 you could get a lot as for seabrook in my opinion get a compliance buyout after the lockout in 2019. So where do we go from here if crow is out say 3 weeks and hawks don't do well and are clearly are not making the playoffs who goes at the TDL? Q and Bowman firings would happen after the season and kieth and kane being traded would happen at the draft. Wait and see I guess.

Absolutely correct. Only way to unload Seabrook is to be sellers and not give away a huge sweetener to a desperate team that has interest as well.

Maybe unload Toews too to find a taker.

If you’re unloading the core no better place to start like the cubs did and the six are doing now.
