Because people cant' quantify it must means it doesn't exist.
- Stripes77

And im telling you it is virtually non-existent.

You know who had a terrible culture "The bickering Bills" They started to win because they had more talent than just about everyone and then magically all the bickering stopped and the culture became good.

Him back with Coughlin and that defense, yeah you're probably right, that's where he ends up.

Now it sounds like we're talking about faith and mysteries of the universe.

This is hockey, it's not a philosophy course. Get better players = be better. Then we can talk about how our culture is great because we have a 2LW and 2 RW and a serviceable top 4

Yes, that's part of the bad culture. The previous front office staff didn't do their jobs effectively. They weren't effective in performing their duties, there was a collection of values or vision, there was NO plan it kept changing. And they didn't perform their jobs.

Here is the text book definition, when a guy like JBots says culture this is what he means. This is a BROAD definition, you have to get the BEST people at EVERY position and get them working together. Organizational Behavior theory are the specifics of how to achieve you're overall culture.

Organizational culture is a system of shared assumptions, values, and beliefs, which governs how people behave in organizations. These shared values have a strong influence on the people in the organization and dictate how they dress, act, and perform their jobs.

- gcomella34

No that's just being S**** at your job, and having tunnel vision because "You liked the college when you scouted him in minors/college"

Tim Murray was terrible at being a GM that has nothing to do with culture.

Literally the first part of what you said is get the best talent.

We've provided multiple times that talent is required, I've provided the actual definition of what culture is.

You're glossing right over what we're saying, deliberately misrepresenting it just to attack it, and it's clear you have no interest in actually learning anything through a dialogue just a monologue.

We're done here.

This team could have a better 2LW and a better 2 RW and a better 1D and they still wouldn't be a good team.

They don't show up ready to play.

It happens almost every game where they don't show up until the 3rd period when they are down 2.

That's a culture thing. That's a leadership thing.

Again, I've provided the definition of organizational culture, it's clear you're interested in only arguing what you think the definition of it is as opposed to it's actual definition.

Moving along.

If this organization keeps Reese and McAdoo and Eli is gone. Well, that will be a sad day.

What is this philosophical BS?

This is sports, you win by having better talent. its that simple.

Why do the Patriots keep winning?
Why have all the sudden the Packers become terrible?
Why is Tampa a top team in the NHL?

I'll tell you what you build your team with the grit and culture and i'll build mine with talent. Hell i'll even take Phil Kessel and Alex Ovechkin. The Kings of "Non-existent culture"

If you feel like i've been disrespectful, i apologize. I've actually agreed with a lot of what you said. I think it's more of a black and white talent issue than you do, but on an individual level, yeah we need players to rise to the occasion

Yes, people with jobs do. Maybe when you finally graduate after 6 years on your 4 year degree you might find out.

No disrespect, it's just I think we've gone as far as we can.

You don't believe is organizational culture or think it's super important. I view it as foundational and HOW you get the best talent.

For the sake of everyone ELSE I said we're done here.

Then how come it took Kessel being traded to the Penguins to win a Cup?

How come Ovechkin hasn't won a Cup?

Ovechkin has been on multiple Caps teams that look like they are going to run through everyone in the playoffs and then they just fade out.

Especially in the playoffs you need the will to do the little things shift in shift out.

They're down 2 because the defense and the bottom six SUCK and can't score, and we're missing 2 top 6 wingers.

It's hard for me to like the Giants since Super Bowl 25, but I like they beat the Patriots!

It's weird for me that the Giants are the mess of New York and not the Jets

Edit: The only team worse is the Browns. The 49ers are at least heading in the right direction.
