Im curious as to what benning (or replacement) does in the off-season with all the freed up cap space. I dont know exact numbers, but it has to be north of 17 million, plus cap is going up - Codes1087
32m left for 10 players plus how much the cap goes up. Thats flexible of course. |

Ryan Johansen was just told about dorsett from the media. Visibly taken back by it. Said dorsett took him under his wing for his first year, showed him what it took day in and day out to be a pro. Could not say enough good things about dorsett. - Codes1087
For sure disappointing news on Dorsett. Appreciated his time and effort here. |

Yes LE - Nighthawk
Maybe. But with all that cap space going into next season...
Edit: could be as high as $21M in UFA and injury savings. |

Lets sign another overpriced free agent to a LE type deal Build through the draft along with some smart trades. |

I believe boeser can sign an extension after july 1st as well. Obviously new contract wont kick in till following year, but good to plan ahead. |

Yes and no at the same time. The canucks have done well in building up their prospect pool (well at least from what it was). Yes, the twins are still here but their TOI has drop significantly. I don't think we can expect more than that. - bloatedmosquito
What I meant was that the NHL club would spend / make moves to try and be competitive for the duration of their contracts. This is the too loyal part I noted. I get it, I just don’t agree it was the best course of action. After the twins retire, the club won’t “owe it” to anyone (other then the fans) and will hopefully adjust their strategy moving forward.
The building up of prospects is another matter, and I am generally happy with how that has gone. |

I'm hopeful LE gets moved in a couple of years once the kids transition. |

No kidding. I've noticed this group repeating topics and subject matter. The most significant discussion point over the last year has been people's behaviour on here.
As entertaining as it's been it just doesn't fill that void. - bloatedmosquito

A few rfas to deal with for sure. I doubt sven demands more than 3.5-4 mill a season. Im not down on sven as some people here, i like him playing with Bo. |

Can see Sven getting paid 6 3.5-4m.
Granlund off year gets him cheap.
EG if still here 4-4.5m max i hope.
JV modest bridge raise to 1.5m.
Pouliot maybe 2m
Stecher bridge 1.8m
All guesses but leaves a lot of cap space. |

I think youre bang on except i dont think virtanen gets 1.5. Granlund got 800k and sven got 900k or something out of their elcs and put up more points (obv more games played).
I hope gudbranson is gone cause anything more then 2.5-3 million per year is overpayment for a bottom pairing guy. |
