I don't know OldSchool. In regards to Gorton, I think it was very clear that the organization made a decision to take a step back to try to get younger and rebuild the organization on the fly a little. I agree with you that the moves made this summer probably weren't good for the Rangers this year, so if that is the standard, I would have to agree. But, we may need to judge him by a different standard on this one, namely whether those were good moves to make the organization younger and more viable long term. That remains to be seen, since the Stepan trade long term will largely depend on how Andersson and D'Angelo turn out (moreso Andersson, because I think D'Angelo was a bit of a flyer).

But the Panthers were also without 2 of their key players in Dadonov and Vrbata. So not having Zib & McDonagh is no excuse for losing this game in the first period, in being down 3-0 at home after it, especially with the Panthers having just played on the prior night, and using their own struggling backup goalie against us, while the Rangers had an off day entering this game.
