Doubt the Lake is frozen but if you stay at the Golden Arrow they clear the ice right behind the resort, kids there for tourneys are always skating, fire pits, it's a fun time
- KreiderBomb

Golden Arrow was awesome.

I was there for a tournament in April of '02 for the earthquake that put the crack in the side of the '80 arena.

Yeah I'm excited for sure a couple of weeks ago they played in Toronto and we got to go to the HOF and get a behind the scenes tour of the Air Canada Centre. I'm telling you I never did any of that at 9 yrs old

Yeah, in one year, I have travelled to Cincy and Chicago multiple times, Las Vegas, next week to Florida and Richmond, Virginia in March, all for kids soccer tournaments. It's nuts and crazy expensive, but also quite fun.

Last night was the classic example of how the Rangers are viewed. If Hank doesn’t stand on his head, they’re very beatable. Comeback notwithstanding.

AV is going nowhere. I’m not at all impressed with Gorton to date, his inability to open the season with a full complement of centers, is not working. Also, trading Stephan and Raanta for a player sent to the minors is unacceptable.

It’s time for him to step up and make something positive happen instead of waiting for an 18 year old center to ready, when he may need a full year to mature.

I get what you're saying on a lot of points, but I don't think last night's game was one where the goalie had to stand on his head. It's just that neither Lundqvist nor Pavalek made the saves when they needed to. The Rangers outplayed the Panthers for most of the game.

As for the Stepan trade...it's just a salary dump to me at this point. It's not like he's leading the Coyotes to the promised land. And Raanta is hurt a lot. But I do think Holden should be sent down and DeAngelo should be recalled.

Your current available crop of centers that could be had in trade. Joe Thornton, Tomas Plekanec, Nugent-Hopkins and Valtteri Filpppula.

I don't know OldSchool. In regards to Gorton, I think it was very clear that the organization made a decision to take a step back to try to get younger and rebuild the organization on the fly a little. I agree with you that the moves made this summer probably weren't good for the Rangers this year, so if that is the standard, I would have to agree. But, we may need to judge him by a different standard on this one, namely whether those were good moves to make the organization younger and more viable long term. That remains to be seen, since the Stepan trade long term will largely depend on how Andersson and D'Angelo turn out (moreso Andersson, because I think D'Angelo was a bit of a flyer).

Lundqvist Should have had the 3rd goal. Still doesn't excuse the entire team play soft in the D zone.

Not impressed with that bunch, as I advocated yesterday make a fullcourt press for Taveras. If that is not in the tea leaves, time to get creative.

I hear ya. I think he miss read the market for Step and had to not only settle for D’Angelo, but had to throw in Raanta.

I was always a huge Stepan fan, and will always appreciate his time with the organization. But making $6.5 million per year long term, some could make the argument based on his recent play that he would have turned into a salary dump before too long. I am not ready to say that quite yet, but once a guy transitions from an asset to guy that you just want to get rid of, you can barely get anything for him, much less a top 10 pick.

Understood, he had to go. Maybe it’s a little too soon to judge the deal.

had they rangers kept him another year, i doubt anybody gives a first round pick for Stepan let alone a top ten. it would take a career year from him for something like that. i'm actually okay with the Stepan trade even if DeAngelo ends up as a 7th defenseman and Anderson ends up as a third line center. it's a risk, but it's cap relief if nothing else.

Yeah but at the end of day that kinda of trade is to be better in the long run. If what you say happened, they'd be viewed as being on the wrong end of the deal.

Go on bobsled. You can go w/ one other person and they provide a driveman and brakeman. You start at halfway point. Take a trip up ski jump as well.

Yes it is!! It's ridiculous.
My brother-in-law has two boys (just far apart enough in age to not play together) playing AAA hockey AND travel baseball. They are in an arena or ball field virtually every day of the year. And it costs them pretty well my sister-in-law's whole annual salary toward sports.
Thank God my kid doesn't seem to have any natural athletic ability!! (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!)

- Tonybere

Thank god I only have 1 kid He also plays travel baseball and its soooooo much cheaper then hockey

It really is a lot of fun. I'm never around on weekends. Probably on the ice 6 days a week when you include practices and games. It's awesome just killing the bank account

No idea if it still exists, but they used to let you go to the old huge ski jumps and go snow tubing down the landing section.
