I know someone that named their daughter "Briley", because apparently it was too difficult to pick between "Brianna" and "Riley" - eichiefs9
That's awful.

My good buddy, a nice Irish lad, in a families of John's, Matt's Tom's, etc., named his kids Sheamus, Declan and Ronin. I personally think he went a little over the top, but it is nice to know that we have an IRA chapter in the neighborhood. - Pete V
Declan is a pretty popular one on the Island, but there's a ton of Irish here. I have a boatload of friends/acquaintances that are off-the-boat-Irish, so the crazy Irish names don't make me blink much. Have a buddy who's young daughters name is Gráinne

I went to a Dunkin Donuts last year around the holidays and there were paper stockings hanging up with all the employees names on them.
One of their names was "Sharmin". I wanted to ask how she felt about being named after a roll of sh it tickets. - eichiefs9
I remember that. Think I told you guys about the kid named Jihad working a Bed, Bath, etc.

I think you brought that up last year. - JRR1285
It's totally worth bringing up again. It never gets old.
My cousin's wife had a patient named "Clishay", pronounced "Cliché", which is just (frank)ing astounding.

Shioban is a female Irish name yet it often is used in the um...African American community.

I just don't know what is going on anymore with some of these names. When I was in HS the hip names involved luxury cars (Lexus, Porsche, etc.)

Where does one shop for a wife nowadays? I met mine the old fashioned way, in a bar.
