I disagree on Bean; kid's a pretty top notch offensive D prospect.

To your point, are they really giving up much? From an outside perspective, they're giving up a pending UFA who likely won't resign (Green) and a guy who they just had difficulty resigning and tops out as a middle-6 C; would they expect to get a lot? More than what I understand to be a bluechip D prospect, two 2nds and taking on a cap dump. I guess it hinges on how they feel about Bean.

But this is precisely why I cautioned it might take some workshopping from other team's fans.

It's just the reality of playing in a popular/passionate sports market. Some players thrive in that sort of market... Other players prefer to play in markets like Florida/Tampa Bay/Arizona, etc. Nothing wrong with either... Different types of personalities. It's really a nothing burger...

I'd have to look back on what I said, but I don't doubt it was optimistic. It was the first time in years that I had been hopeful going into a year Klefbom has a HUGE hand in the disappointment and my fervent support (read: love affair) with him likely blinded me to some shortcomings and pitfalls the roster has dealt with.

I maintain my stance that Russell isn't so bad as to earn the amount of vitriol he gets and that Strome is a solid add to improve our roster's flexibility despite not being Eberle's offensive equal. However, I can say with utmost confidence that I was wrong on Jokinen and Nurse by judging them too favourably/harshly based on stats.

Particularly regarding the Eberle trade. You felt I was making too much out of potential regressions, the loss of Eberles production and the loss of Sekeras.
You felt that increases in productivity from Caggs , Benning and Slepy added with Strome would provide enough scoring. I was wrong on the regressions of Maroon and Lucic but some other Lame ducks have sucked that I didn't expect.

I was looking at the "before you buy" channel on YouTube, and the Ark game turned out being different than what I thought it was. The guy said you have to do a lot of pissing around with inventory, and building houses, etc. Ehhhhh... I haven't played a Final Fantasy in forever, but part 15 looks really good... And it's less than half price (for another 8 or 9 hours at least).

3 way deal between EDM, Carolina and Detroit:

- Edmonton sends RNH, Benson, Russell and a 2019 2nd
- Carolina sends Faulk, Bean and a conditional 2018 2nd (becomes a 2019 2nd if they miss the playoffs)
- Detroit sends Athanasiou, Green and a 2018 3rd

So this leads to the addition of assets being divided as such:

Edmonton receives Faulk, Athanasiou and DET 2018 3rd
Carolina receives RNH, Benson and Green
Detroit receives Bean, EDM 2019 2nd, CAR cond. 2018 2nd and Kris Russell

Or something along those lines. I'd need our resident Canes and Wings fans to comment to be certain, but I figure it's probably close.

Worth nothing that I don't believe this fixes OUR team's problems, but they're your parameters. I'm of the mind to focus our attention on smaller deals to pick up the sorts of guys that could be had without giving up major assets.
