Based on #Leafs optional skate participants, I would guess Roman Polak, Matt Martin and Dominic Moore will all play tonight vs. Capitals. Leivo, Sosh and Carrick all skating.

So yesterday before the game my buddy says to me . A great offense wins you games but a great defense wins you cups. Heard it a million times but whatever. I was like well ask the Pens that question the last two years. He was like well that was a fluke. I laughed and then it hit me. Leafs with great young forwards against Canes with great young Dmen. Hundred bucks i said that the Leafs will get out played, there Dmen will look like poop, but in the end still some how win. He says your On. Stupid ass, you can tell he's a Sens fan.

Actually, Pollak is a good call. Capitals a big dirty team, won't hurt to have a player, unlike Gardiner and Zaitsev won't be blowing kisses at the opposition as they pummel Leafs into the boards.

Leafs better start on time and not expect McBackup to bail them out. Also, Matthews is not himself. Even the Montreal game where he scored 2, he is just not skating like normal. Nagging injury? Or just a few lackluster games?
