Wow is the Atlantic Division ever awful, could quite possibly be worse than the Pacific Division. You guys should easily make the playoffs with that mediocre team
- LeftCoaster

Thanks for that, well stated. You should add when the better teams in the west wake up, Cinderella time will be over for the Canucks and they can continue to suck ass.

Agreed, worst player on the ice, Gardiner and Zaitsev were lousy all night.

But the Carolina logo means that was their zone, right? So that’s their net a million high quality chances happened around!

No wonder we scored 5 goals!!!

Andersen was very good, (Ward not so much) except for the sh!tty fourth goal. Seems to me that Leafs have an aversion to the hitting game. They can get hemmed in once a couple of hits are delivered to softies like Gardiner and Zaitsev. Babcock has to do a better job of teaching this team how to clear the zone.

I recall seeing a couple non Leafs fans pop in after the Kadri signing to say it was an overpayment.

Good times.

Who gives a rats ass how ppl speak. Its hockey. Start a petition for Harvard grad Chiapet if u want. School smarts over hockey smarts is folly. Eloquence doesn’t win hockey games hard work & knowledge does. Good speakers can sell used cars. Equating well spoken ppl to being talented doesn’t belong in sports.
- Nighthawk

I do, obviously. If you're insinuating Benning has hard work and hockey knowledge on his side then maybe you can explain why the Canucks have the second fewest wins as an organization (72) over the past two and a quarter seasons in the entire NHL yet spent to the cap limit every year, only Arizona has been worse with 71, although they barely make the cap floor.

I'd like someone who's well spoken and intelligent, is that too much to ask? Why do fans feel the need to defend him when his record has been terrible? I don't fault him 100% for that by the way, which I've mentioned in this blog, but he's no saviour that's for sure.

You've changed your tune.

What happened to the "Leafs were lucky with injuries last year, won't happen again, sophomore slumps will happen, teams won't be surprised by the Leafs this year, Andersen is an average goalie, Leafs had career years last year won't happen again"?

They haven't been rebuilding, we have more top five picks than they do over the past ten years. Tippett wouldn't allow a rebuild.

It can be, but is not always the way it works. Oilers, Leafs, Buffalo, Arizona, Colorado and Vancouver have mostly sucked for several years. Appears that Arizona, Colorado and Buffalo continue to suck. Oilers are a mess despite all those high picks. Vancouver is showing significant and surprising improvement. Boeser looks to be a really solid player. I think what the Canucks do with the Sedins could offer them a significant boost - if they move them for picks at the deadline, which might not be popular, it could set them up for success.

I request that the following teams win tonight:

Leafs
Canadiens
Islanders
Red Wings
Blackhawks
Penguins

I know having the Canadiens there seems strange, but they’re no risk to make the playoffs, and I really want to see the Sens give up the 1st overall for Duchene.

Yeah they gave up a poopload for Matty D.

He'll turn it around in Ottawa soon, he's too good not to.
