While all this is true, part of the problem is that he's having an ordinary year on a sub-par team right after he signed a mega-deal. He still is the best thing going for this team, but his disappearance (for lack of a better term) right after hitting paydirt is simply not a good look.

the ironic part, the -8 is clearly stemming from empty netters allowed when he is on the ice and short handed goals when he was on the ice


this stat means something, but really doesn't when you are a front man on a crappy team

Well - an Edmonton blogger saying Buffalo media is “dragging” Eichel is not really Buffalo media (or any one else) saying Jacks not the best thing we have going.

Only Homie does that. And Beady when his other bullpoop isn’t getting attention.

He's going to end up at or near a point per game by the end of the year, if for no other reason than as this team continues to wallow near the bottom, more teams will strategically play their backup goaltenders against them. Eichel is a natural goal scorer, and will succeed against the lesser competition more often than not.

That said, there are a few players than can elevate a bad team to respectability. Granted he's young, and this season is still on its younger end, but in his first real chance to do this, he hasn't yet.

Only Homie does that.
