The problem is we had those players in their prime a year ago and we had success. Minus a couple of those guys and were bottom feeding again.

I have no problem grasping the concept, I'm just wondering where you have seen the strategy you suggest actually work?

No team is successful without a bunch of key players in their prime, and the Sabres have very few of those ( Kane, RoR?). You can add as many rookies or over the hill geezers as you want , but until your core is mature, responsible and capable, it won't produce the results you want.
