The gm has no power if Terry wants a big fish he will get a big fish

he doesn't just want to swap dollars for dollars

he wants cap room for the long term and short term

think 20 mil, not 5 mil

Ok...
if that’s his outlook, then I’d guess there aren’t too many options that would drastically change his mind

But like I’ve said...
improving the defense & depth scoring could help this team A LOT
Even if that’s just some with bringing up some of our talented youth

And i agree with moving on from Lehner

might be. I hope they look at some AHL tweeners as well. Guys who are stuck in a deep part of that team's depth chart.

Islanders have interest
Ryan Pulock has been thrown out there

Gotta assume that the Leafs would be a serious contender

I don't he's very close to the Tavares "IF" he is a UFA they will basically make the core him and Jack

Terry can't help him self he's like Jerry Jones

They might but Terry has a very good relationship with his uncle and family so that gives us a chance

And the fact they still have to sign Matthews and their big three

Kadri -> O’Reilly
JvR -> Kane
Reilly -> Scandella
Gardiner -> Ristolainen
Bozak -> Reinhart

Plus Pominville is solid & Okposo should bounce back
Oh yeah, and Eichel

Even though our team sucks right now,
we have some good pieces

An improved defense,
especially guys that can move the puck,
will help A LOT
Dahlin & Guhle can move the puck

Our 3rd & 4th lines have a TOTAL of 5 goals this year
I’m thinking Nylander & Mittelstadt could both score 15+ on the 3rd line
That would be about double what our entire 3rd & 4th lines will do this year
Some depth scoring will also help us A LOT

Also,
those 4 will DRAMATICALLY increase our team speed
Additions of guys like Bailey, Baptiste, & Rodrigues will also help team speed & scoring depth

Again...
not saying Cup
Just potential playoffs

- jdfitz77

First bold: no way. Rielly is legit. Scandella is a 2nd pairing guy. Rielly can still develop into a low end 1st pair

Second one: maybe in 5 years, but not right now. It's close, but Bozak can actually, you know, play center.

You also need guys like Kadri on your team who are very underpaid.

Anyone watching Auburn vs Alabama?
Both these teams are flying around the field
I’d love to draft some of these guys & increase our team speed

He’d get a really good return most likely
And we’d have to give up nothing for Tavares

Win-win

You don't get how circles work, do you? If they were anything more than chopsticks you'd be able to tell from the back too.

I’d give us a chance...
but almost every team in the league would be making him an offer as well
It would be another Stamkos like situation

Rielly's a tough one to judge. moves the puck really well but damn he's bogo in his own end
