Obviously not.

All I can stress is be patient with your young talent. Development has peaks and valleys.

Peter Chiarelli came in and (frank)ed up everything we sacrificed For so many years to obtain and we are still dog poop.

Theodore is no risk
- GERBE!!!75PTS

assuming vegas would even consider this deal, theodore has played 7 nhl games this year.

saying he's no risk is a huge stretch

Not anywhere near as much as Foote, he played a bunch in Anaheim last year and was good despite being sent up and down 47 times. And Vegas have 12 defensemen that need waivers, he doesn't. That's the only reason he's not full time.

No it won't. That's adding 4 inexperienced players and expecting them to play a key role.

Have you learned nothing from this rebuild?

- Larsson_fan

Not really
Asking a top overall pick to play a key role shouldn’t be too much to ask

Asking 2 guys picked in the top10 to provide SOME offense on the 3rd line shouldn’t be too much to ask

Asking Guhle, who was borderline “ready” TWO years ago, to just be decent shouldn’t be too much to ask

I’m not saying we’d contend for the Cup or anything...
but Playoffs could be a possibility

How many young guys did the Leafs have perform for the last year?
How about Jersey this year?
It happens

The number 1 thing I learned from the rebuild is that the NHL is boring when your team sucks. I totally get why the NHL can't attract new fans. I now realize that I'm a fan of the Sabres and hockey, but the NHL as a league is terrible
- jcragcrumple

They’re the only league in sports that doesn’t promote scoring

It’s mind blowing

Want more fringe fans to watch?
Have the games be 5-4 instead of 3-2
It’s really that simple

You're talking about a team with seasoned players in their primes such as Kadri, JVR, Rielly, Gardiner and Bozak, not to mention some decent plumbers. They were prepared to add some still developing rookies.
Your team on the other hand has almost exclusively still developing youngsters or over the hill useless old farts. Look at the big picture. This is going to take some time.

If anything I think the sabres can land Theodore for Kane
- GERBE!!!75PTS

I’d be cool with that

Bob McKenzie said a couple weeks ago that the Ducks want to trade for a Forward & would be willing to part with Vatanen or Jacob Larsson
I’d be happy with Larsson

Kadri -> O’Reilly
JvR -> Kane
Reilly -> Scandella
Gardiner -> Ristolainen
Bozak -> Reinhart

Plus Pominville is solid & Okposo should bounce back
Oh yeah, and Eichel

Even though our team sucks right now,
we have some good pieces

An improved defense,
especially guys that can move the puck,
will help A LOT
Dahlin & Guhle can move the puck

Our 3rd & 4th lines have a TOTAL of 5 goals this year
I’m thinking Nylander & Mittelstadt could both score 15+ on the 3rd line
That would be about double what our entire 3rd & 4th lines will do this year
Some depth scoring will also help us A LOT

Also,
those 4 will DRAMATICALLY increase our team speed
Additions of guys like Bailey, Baptiste, & Rodrigues will also help team speed & scoring depth

Again...
not saying Cup
Just potential playoffs

i doubt anyone takes gorges but i could see a smaller deal like that happening to add close to ready nhl guys
- Sabresfan-365

Personally: I think Gorges has some value at the trade deadline. Think Weber to caps for a 3rd and that was tmgm.

Gorges to the caps for a 3rd at the deadline?

He's played 80 games pretty much a guarantee that he's going to be a solid defenseman then taking a Prospect

Just in the same realm, give or take
And that would be how good our players are at the start of next year,
compared to how good those Leafs were at the start of LAST year

We have some decent pieces
What I’m really saying is that if we can get some depth scoring from our youth, improve the defense & oveall team speed...
that could all have a significant effect in us improving next season
Maybe we start winning games 3-2,
instead of losing 5-4 or 3-1

I do too. Gorges has actually being playing quite well in that 3rd pairing role. Legitimate contenders like Pitt, Tampa and St Louis always look for depth come playoff time. I think he'll catch at least a 4th but maybe a 3rd.

I heard a while back either Montour or Manson for kane. Anahiem has so much talent on defense. It would be a salary issue now, but at the deadline........

Kane isn't worth as much as we all hope. It's hard for a playoff team to give up anything substantial for a rental. Really doubt kane would extend, before unrestricted free agency., which would obviously increase his value.

No. Reinhardt and Risto are still developing. They have too many warts to put them in a position to shield rookies.same can probably be said about Kane, TBH.

If he continues to play decent,
we might even get a 2nd

Prices for Defensemen are almost always overinflated come deadline time
