Actually no. I rewatched it. Couturier had the guy and then Voracek called to Couturier to switch because Voracek could cut him off. If they swapped like intended Leddy would not have had the time to snipe it. I actually had it wrong at first because I though Coots was voracek originally - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I think you need to rewatch it again. When Voracek is in his spectator mode and pointing with his back to Leddy, Leddy is licking his chops and skating to the slot unchecked for the game winner. Couturier has his man who at that point can only make a pass and can't shoot. Voracek lost his man and blew the coverage. Again!

Voracek was not even aware of the other 2 men. I saw it happening in slow motion. Blech. |

There is a reason why Morin only saw 3 shifts in the 3rd period. Call me any name you want, it's not going to change that Morin has not been that good in the two games so far. I'm a Morin fan and I'm rooting for him but I call it like I see it.

If he pointed towards the guy, he cleary didnt lose the man, he knew he was there. He stepped specifically to cut off Tavares or Ho Sang whomever it was. Passing wasnt his only option, he could have easily turned down the middle and got by Couturier |

When you lose 6 in a row I am totally fine with the coach shortening his bench....I expect no less...but they did blow a two goal lead with him on the bench and lose in OT...hopefully they get this turned around, but right now there are too many passengers on this team. |

A new coach wont change anything. You cant fix talent and inexperience. Even on the first NYI goal. 2 Isles where left WIDE open in front of Elliot. Manning and Morin were nowhere near the goalie - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I'm not trumpeting a coaching change, but to say a new coach wouldn't change anything is not necessarily so. You can blame it partly on the rookies on the blue line but this team has been regressing every year under Hakstol.
Whether a new voice and direction behind the bench is needed would a fair conversation. |

He pointed to the guy that Provorov had, not Leddy. Leddy was behind Voracek at the point and skated right into the slot unchecked for the game winner. Couturier had his man and he could only pass at that point. No way he can turn around and shoot. Voracek was there because he was standing still. Jake was directing traffic to the two guys who played their man while his man scored the winning goal. |

By shortening his bench, he's having to over play other players like Manning to the tune of 23 minutes. The way Morin played, he belonged having his ice time cut. I'm not judging him overall as a player, only on how he has played these two games.

Everyone is culpable. Everyone. Not one guy on the team you can look at and say he’s innocent on this streak. Players, Coaches, GM, even the (frank)ing trainers.
It’s growing pains. I get it. They make mistakes. But now is the time to play the youth. You suck. Face it. The kids that are already playing, continue to play them. The ones you want to see, play them... ASAP. No more Weise, no more Filppula, no more Read. Trim the fat, see what you’ve got and go from there with another high pick and a year of assessment of your youth.
Don’t fire the Coach in season. They aren’t good, not that he helps. Assess him after the season and make a decision after that. One more bad coach and Hextall may be gone too. |

I understand what Hakstol was doing in terms of personnel in the OT. I just think you have to be more aggressive and let it role. Not a criticism against Manning but I'd rather see Sanheim than Manning in OT. - MJL
That was a tad odd....but at this point he’s trying anything that might work.

You want to be committed to a coach but that has a limit. There is a lot of errors and mistakes made that shouldn't be difficult to clean up. I think it's far more on the players than the coach, but you can't give the coach immunity. The repeated mistakes are a reflection on the coach whether it's his fault or not. You just can't continue to let the team go backwards.

The Flyers aren't going to stop playing Fillpula until they trade him, if they do. Nor should they.

Can't blame the equipment managers. Did you see how quickly they changed Raffl's skate blade?
Terrific. |

Pretty sure it wouldn’t have been any worse had Morin played his usual shift ...no ? I think Morin has had some rough patches but to say it’s been dreadful because of a couple bad miscues ? It’s not like his bad play is any worse then the rest of these garbonza’s.
I’m not sure what you expect from the kid?

It has nothing to do with expectations and everything to do with simply how he played. He simply hasn't been that good. Again, that is not commentary on Morin as a player overall or his future, but simply about how he has played the last two games. His game still needs significant fine tuning.

You missed the significant part. Robert Hagg needs fine tuning. This is a player who was drafted 4 years ago, has played 4 junior seasons, two full AHL seasons and still based on the last two games, albeit a small sample, does not look fully ready to take on a full time NHL role. It was known that he was going to be a project but so far he looks to be a bigger project than thought and looks to be behind in development. I hope it's just nerves and it's something that he can play through and get better quickly. We'll see. To be fair he is recently coming off an injury and missed some time, so I don't know how much that has affected him. |

I deleted my post. It’s not worth arguing with you, because it’s what you want. Sure, why not, keep playing Filpp. He’s been a huge difference maker and hasn’t been slow or a turnover machine. |

Whatever you think. I’m not an NHL talent evaluator. But he’s been garbage. Absolute trash this season. But it’s ok, continue to be a smug, even though you also share zero NHL talent evaluation ability.
I always look forward to you and JoeGrief arguing. Two absolutely delusional people going after each other. It’s priceless. - Flyers1218
Stating that Filppula has been garbage and absolute trash is not even remotely close to being accurate. There's a reason why Filppula is 5th in TOI/G among Flyers forwards. There will be a number of teams interested in his services if the Flyers would decide to move him later in the season.

We have been regressing while Babcock's maple loafs are growing by leaps...
Gallant's Knight's pounded the ducks that we laid down twice for...
