one of the best GMs though is Poile - wouldn't mind if Leafs tried and sign that guy after Lou retires (in 15years or so)

Yep. He's made a lot of horrible moves over the years. Every GM makes bad moves but when you make more bad ones than good ones you aren't doing your job right.

He will be fired when they miss the playoffs which isn't a bad thing for them...

Nope, Matthews is clearly a better all around player.

The only thing McDavid edges Matthews on is obviously speed. Maybe a tad more on hockey IQ but that's reaching.

I think that McDavid will probably end up being the better player in hockey history (at the end of their careers), but I wouldn't trade Matthews for him.

I just think that he's our guy, and you gotta stick with your guy and see what happens.

The Sens have played significantly worse since trading Turris. Duchene has one and a half years of control and has not even come close to resembling what he was coming out of junior. Don't know the reason nor do I want to speculate, it appears Sens were third best in the deal. Give them a bronze medal. They lost some assets, don't pick until the fourth round in the draft this year.

Signing Chara and trading Kessel were both very, very good moves.

Also for what it's worth - Kessel and Burke pretty much forced his hand on that trade.

Kessel didn't want to re-sign, Chia wanted to trade him to Nashville, Kessel said he wanted to go to TO, and Burke had just re-acquired the 2nd rounder it would have taken(along with the 1st and 3rd he already had) to offer sheet him.
