Kruger is playing good in carolina they like him and what he brings. Kempney for a different center who we ll see how things play out throughout the league its a shame with kempney because he has all rhe tools to be a solid top 4 d man Q screwing with another good talent like leddy - Scott1977
Yeah I agree 100%. As for whether Kruger is a fit:
Before you trade for a center, you have to look at the guys you have coming and style, strength weaknesses of each. And if you add a center, long term what ability level do you want- possibly a first round choice could be a top line center.
Ideally do you like a skill fast center on one line and a Toews in his prime as you other top center. In the back of my mind I wonder if Hayden could be a monster along boards like J Staahl has been this season for Aho and TT
As much as your trade proposal is worthy and interesting, I think you have to determine as much as possible the answers to the points I mention. But probably Q would always welcome a veteran
Darth Kane suggested Eller for Panic. I prefer Panic stays. With Eller here does that mean Highmore, Kampf, even Hinostroza languish? |

E Ericksson Ek, the Swede first round choice two years ago by Minnesota, got off the pine and press box seat in Minny and onto the ice for Iowa. He beat the Icehogs in OT.
I noticed Raydish played and Dahlstrom was out of lineup.
If the Blackhawks are barely treading water at the trade deadline, i would consider intra conferance trade Toews for E Ericksson Ek. I would scout that kid more before piling the trigger. But it will never happen in Chicago.
Mr Richochet: if you missed it in a blog response I question if Gilbert skating as a dman was the knock about his skating. Going end to end on a rush is different than the various skating situations Gilbert would face as a defenseman. |

I would be absolutely shocked if Toews is ever traded. |

Yeah, me too. Just spitballin how to get a top line center. You consider such a trade in fantasy leagues where teams can retain a stable of prospects.
I prefer a skill fast guy and a Toews in his prime as the other top center.
It will be really interesting how Sikula fits here. Another smallish center with skill ready for NHL
How good is he at the dot? |

Sharp definitely needs a few games off. Send Osterle down, the small chance he does get taken OH WELL. Bring up 2 of Kampf, Vinnie, or Dauphin if you want carry the max. Maybe Highmore. Hartman is getting to the point of wasting a roster spot as well. He doesn't do anything good enough to warrant him taking a roster spot. Every guy on that 4th line plays hard as hell and for the most part has possession in the offensive zone. Wingles is a keeper. Bouma is so so but busts his ass. Hayden is going to be a decent player in a couple years. |

I’d really need to see the high sticking incident again. Anyone have a link? - walleyeb1
Not his finest moment. I would have given him a major and a misconduct. |

I didn't see intent. Just a player who didn't control his stick. That said, had he gotten a major and misconduct, I wouldn't have argued. |

I really do not see any sense in keeping Osterle around at all. We are not using him and the little he has played, he looked very ordinary. I doubt that he would be claimed and if he was, then no loss. Use this spot to look at some Rockford guys. |

Seeing that Columbus won 5-2 last nite, I checked out the stats to see how Panarin fared.
Interesting stat line for him: 0 points, -2, 14 1/2 min played
Not what I expected to see. Is the shine starting to wear off? |

Although he's not playing, they are high on him.
They showed their interest above other teams by offer him a 2-year / 1-way deal when most teams didn't.
I would like to see him get some ice-time anywhere at this point. |

He does not have Kane as a linemate. Also there is a lot of talent on Columbus roster; it is not like Chicago for him. Wenneberg was to be his cener to start of season. |

For majority of the games this year, I really enjoy watching the 4th line more than any other lines. I have to total agree with your assessment on that line.

His contract is up after next year. If he does not experience the success he had in Chicago, I wonder if he sticks around for another contract. |

He doesn't have Kane and he doesn't have Q playing that line on a high percentage of the teams offensive zone draws. Q's usage of Panarin inflated his offensive stats and helped minimize his defensive deficiencies. Having a team with only one offensive line required Q to optimize offensive chances by using that line more for production which really helped Artemi. I'm sure he isn't getting that same preferential treatment in Ohio. When he becomes a free agent, he probably will get slightly discounted $$$ than if he continued playing on the Hawks. |

Q also played him during opposition empty net situations which was maddening considering Panarin's bonus clauses. |

For those who were pining for Duchene, the guy has been awful for Ottawa (and so has the team) since his acquisition.
I think they should have kept Turris (not withstanding all the other assets they gave up). |

Right now the Hawks' point total has them in the bottom third of the league. Does that qualify them officially as a bottom dweller? |

Can't discount the Tortorella factor either. Can't see Panarin thriving under him. Once his contract is up, he will seek greener pastures even if it means heading back to the KHL. |

Hi is tight with Tarasenko. Maybe St. Louis as a destination if something can be worked out. |

I see that as well. Definitely a top choice for Panarin. Imagine him added to the Blues already potent offense. Oof.
Does that translate to playoff success? Blues still need to prove that. They can win all the President's Trophies but they need to prove it where it counts most. |
