To be fair, Larsson has been pretty lousy lately. Stone has been very solid. Career-wise Larsson is better. These last two weeks Stone has been far better. - fry
In a 3rd pairing role, so point is mute. |

Hall trade was garbage. Only in Oil town would some one think that was even close to ok.
Oil town wanted Eberle gone in the expansion draft for nothing. - ifiwasgm
Yep. Plenty of Morons in our fan base wanted him gone....most wanted a better return and only 1 idiot is thrilled with the deal as of now. |

I know you said Stone, but maybe you meant Smith?? Considering the guy is playing better than Kipper at the moment, i wouldnt be to high on the best defense core in the league. Unless being doubled in shots almost every night is what a new NhL defense looks like. |

Teams are 2-3 in the race for the corsi cup. Fired because of unlucky results? Seems to be the opposite of what you preach? |

Ya dont ask him to explain this bias he has, i have numerous times in this comment thread and he spews regurgitated garbage about nothing valid. But hey, the NHL should just hand the reins iver to guys who have never held any position in hockey ever. |

In a vacuum, sure it is. But at the same time, we're talking about badly flawed teams that made obvious bad moves. I do think both teams are better than they've shown, but at the same time, I would like to use these unlucky times as an excuse to make moves I've thought were necessary for a long time now.

Is that not having your cake, and eating it too? Which is kinda what the analytics community tries to expose about the "old school" type of thinking?

And no it's not. Did you see how awful Larsson was in that blowout? Stone has been playing well when he's been moved to the 2nd pairing. This week Stone has been a better defenseman. Can't refute that point. |

Thanks spelling B champ of 1987.... but ya until Stone plays against the other teams elite players night in and night out, it is not just a moot point, it is a muted convo and its a laughable argument by a division rival. |

Of course he plays against other team's top lines. You do realize the home team gets last change and the Flames have been on a road trip all week?
Anyone with a pair of eyes can see how bad Larsson has been this week. He's been caught standing still several times and the Oil have paid for it. Stone has been very solid lately, Larsson hasn't. Stone is currently a better defenseman.
Is Larsson in a slump? Yep. Not denying that. Just saying Stone has been better lately. |
