No extra pick and Gudbrandson instead of Tanev. Take it or leave it Chia pet.

I'm pretty sure he will leave it. I wonder if he a JB are talking at all, definitely know eachother 'real well'

And that's okay to leave it. Vancouver doesn't need to change much at this point. TDL will be interesting for sure. Don't really want any of their players, just their top draft pick.

Edmonton on the other hand has to do something, or at least the appearance of doing something.

Ya. But hey have 30 teams to talk to, so it's not quite like you're implying.

They had the lotto draft for 2018 already and Canucks lost again

From what I've been told JB is targeting a young cost-controlled top 6 winger or 2nd line C. Only talking to Eastern teams.

He's willing to add a decent piece to Gudbranson to make it work

No I get that. I'm not implying we're the only team they can deal with. Very unlikely it's any team in the Pacific division. It's just that they're the ones over the barrel. Someone is going to take them to the cleaners. Should be fun to watch.

I think most people thought Sakic was going to get bent over too, same with Yzerman in the Drouin situation. Chia has pressure, but a lot of flexibility with what to trade and quite a few chips.

Interesting talk from Jason Brough on Bennings contract/dismissal. He wrote an article for the athletic . He brought up some good points about do you want a Lame Duck GM at TDL making moves that might be done out of panic. Some good quotes from Linden also on the topic. It will be an interesting few months. He also threw out names like Holland and Wilson that may be on Canucks radar

Didn't you bet your avatar that the Flyers would smoke the Canucks in the game last night?

I think he mentioned Doug Armstrong as well. Lots of options anyway. If the team doesn't tank after January, I think JB is pretty safe for at least a 2 year extension though.

Does he have that kind of time though? I'm surprised Sakic still has a job.

It's a lot of speculation over the only fact we know is that FA said on radio recently he is happy with what JB has accomplished.

Fixed
Although I'm not keen to lose an elite level, high percentage, shot preventer like gudbranson, but i guess you have to pay to play.

I would be open to give benning 1 or 2 years, just to see what he does when he has an extra 14 mill and 3 older players in sedins and vanek not playing.

Can we just fire linden in the mean time?

Let's go back to grabbing Edmontons first overall, really looks like a top 2 pick, Tanev is only here for 50 games a year anyway, plus the Canucks finish in 29-28 place. Two really good picks right there.

It's an internal team thing at this point, same team that dominated last year alithough Sekera has been hurt. They need D bad, I agree. MacT isn't the answer to anything except trivia. Awful manager. Makes JB/TL look like elite managers.

Yeah good point there probably is an extension of some kind for JB. Why is FA firing Linden for doing what he wants?
