To all that think that you could trade for Edmonton's first, what makes you so sure either team would be willing to trade with a division rival for assets like that?

I mean, Burt for a 2nd was as far reaching as divisional trades go, which you won that trade hands down because bad coaching was hard on him and fhucked up his progression. The Grandlund trade was also a 3rd/4th liner trade.

I just can't see pieces that big exchanging hands between rivals.. Am I wrong?!

No. That was why it was labelled a "never going to happen trade scenario." It probably wouldn't even happen in manager mode for NHL 17.

Yeah there is always the chance that the oilers could make a surge through the standings, but we have been saying that for eons, last year was an fluke after seeing this years progress.

I like Marner also but I'd rather trade Gudbranson for Marner, Tanev although I wouldn't rate as a number two Dman league wide, would trade in a heartbeat for the second overall pick, but I also like RNH.

Guddy would never get Marner. I could see Kapanen coming for Guddy or a 1st(prefer 1st) from a team looking to improve their defense.
