I’d swap Guds for Buffalos Reinhardt. Not Edmonton’s. - dbot

I agree. But don't want RNH. I guess the question is are we in a true rebuild or not. Do we want two high draft picks in a loaded year? We have extra NHL level defensemen at this point. Stecher close to return and Pouliot has been a good pickup. We aren't likely to make the playoffs let alone get past the first round even if we get in.
As much as I like Tanev and think he is our best defensemen, he is starting to become injury-prone and his best years will be done by the time we may be actually playoff competitive.
It'll never happen anyway. - we_are_all_canucks
Tanev gets injured every year.
But I feel similar. Best D. Best trade chip, but leaves a big hole.
I’d move him for the right deal (and then re up Guds). |

Does anybody know if the Canucks cover the cost for Dorsett seeing an outside specialist or does he cover the cost himself out of his own wallet, or is an insurance coverage thing.
I'd love to know if anybody can tell me/us - Flamin_Irishmin
I’d guess insurance.
No way do players cover their own Dr bills.

I like that Kassian seems to have his shlt together. But okay, take him out of the deal. Was just trying to take a contract back to even things out. I would like his toughness back, especially if Dorsett is done. - we_are_all_canucks
He seems on track and that's good. I'll pat him on the back for it but he's still high risk for that very reason and the Canucks gave him a helluva chance being brought in when the Sedins were productive and we needed youth injected to the line up and then moved him to a legendary original 6 team. We certainly don't owe him another chance. He's got a great gig in Oil town so I don't feel bad for him. Only a couple of players in this league have spent time on McDavid's line. |

Crazy will never happen trade scenario:
To Edmonton: Tanev, 3rd round pick in 2018
To Vancouver: Kassian, 1st round pick in 2018
Would you pull that trigger?
Would Chia Pet? - we_are_all_canucks
I am not interested in Kassian or Lucic or Maroon
To Edmonton: Tanev, 4rd round pick in 2018
To Vancouver: Ryan Nugent-Hall |

Gudbranson > Reinhart - VanHockeyGuy
Not so sure about this one. Either way, I'd take him straight across if Chia offered a one for one. |

I was interested in doing that deal in the off season. Not sure Vancouver would need to add the obligatory draft pick.
Ooh. Wait. Who is nugent hall? A new hybrid?? |

This is a complete undervalue even if its a lotto pick. If you trade Tanev now for Oiler's 1st rounder which is the basis of your deal then the hopes that it will be a lotto pick goes out the door. The Oilers would likely win the division with what Tanev can do for them. It's a give a way of a scenario for Canucks and saves Chia.
Good D are very hard to come by and develop. That is what the Canucks need most of all to develop good D and Tanev helps there as well as helps the flow of development with play for the rest of the team. |

Guddy for a first and prospect sounds like a good deal to explore in January if he isn't signing for reasonable contract. |

There's a good trade, but lets say Tanev straight across for the Oilers 1st overall, looks like a #1 or 2 pick. |

It's an internal team thing at this point, same team that dominated last year alithough Sekera has been hurt. They need D bad, I agree. MacT isn't the answer to anything except trivia. Awful manager. Makes JB/TL look like elite managers. |
