This team is unwatchable right now. I want something to change. I cannot continue to watch a team when I hate a quarter of the roster. I am out for awhile. Completely aggrivating. - mickel25
The positive news is the Flyers future is bright, while all the competitive contending teams now future is a poop sandwich. |

This team has awful special teams right now.
19th on the PP (Hi Kris Knoblauch! Welcome to the NHL!) and 28th on the PK (Oh, Lappy.,..).
Improving in these two areas would likely make this team at least much more entertaining to watch. - johndewar
Agreed. The PK has been awful for 3-4 years now. |

What's the definition of insanity? Repeating the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. |

I loved Lappy as a player. I do not understand how he still has a job. 3-4 years of bottom ten production. |

The other problem with the gost benching was he only benches young guys like him and tk and never held players like g Jake who at the time were also playing terrible - Tfaehner
Young players and veteran proven players are never treated the same, by any coach. There is a difference between a young player not playing his position well fundamentally and a veteran player who is in a slump or struggling.

I don't want to get into a thing here but a majority of this team is lacking in the fundamentals department. |

I assume that means Read and Alt demoted?

Doesn't sound like Morin is being recalled. Maybe alt was told MacDonald back Friday so he packed his locker up for after tonight's game to head to LHV - Tfaehner
What gives you that impression? |

No coach is going to call a player up from the AHL just to change things up. I assume this means that the GM deems both players are now NHL ready and should be expected as permanent lineup fixtures.
Don't you guys know anything about the inner workings of professional sports teams and how the individual minds of Ron Hextall and Dave Hakstol operate? |

It' funny/sad cause at the carnival he said he was actually happy with his game so far this season, then he was demoted to spare forward the next day at practice. |

Hallelujah!!
There are quite a few forwards who can be sat to make room for Martel and lord knows, no one is going to miss Mark Alt.
As much as we complain about Lehtera, I thought Weal was worse last night. If you are going to keep Simmonds in the lineup, I'd sit Weal and go with:
The Usual First Line
Filppula-Patrick-Martel
TK-Lehtera-Simmonds
Leier-Laughton-Raffl
Time to shake things up in the middle six and I want Filppula on the wing because at some point, Vecchione needs to come up too.

I actually haven't minded Weise or what he usually brings. If I made the lineups he would usually be on the 4th line and could move up as needed due to injury. He can disappear and I wouldn't mind one bit...but I don't think he has been bad. He isn't going to help out our top 2 lines with how they are currently set up. |

Back in Lappy's day, you were soft if you had more than 2 teeth and didn't skate uphill both ways.
This also applies to people from West Virginia. |

and yes I know I am Leight. just approve of this move. Just happy to see the kids get a shot. Rather watch young guys, win or lose, than the current group lose.

I have no problem with how Alt competed. He played to his ability, limited as it is.
