I was upset we didn't go after guys like raanta Jones or grubauer. But God forbid we trade away a pick - Tfaehner
Grubauer and Raanta aren't any better than what we have. Jones was traded years ago in the middle of Mason's contract.
Dallas traded a pick for Bishop, gave him a huge contract, and he's not doing any better than Elliott this season. |

Well, the Flyers used 2 in 2010.
Technically Pittsburgh did 2 years ago, Murray was the backup heading into the playoffs. But it's relatively rare. Brian Hayward came in for Roy in a couple of games in 86 and Wregget won a huge game 7 for the Flyers in 89. I'm sure there's been a few others but usually teams just roll with their #1 - BiggE

His post was sarcastic. Several teams did. And the Vegas expansion made most of them trade their quality back ups. I'm not saying we could get a lot for them. Probably a mid round pick. But if we needed to move one I don't think it would be difficult. That's my only point. |

You even look at Chicago who has used darling periodically to spell Crawford in the playoffs. Raanta is literally the reason rangers even had a season. Etc etc etc |

On an unrelated note, my 4-year-old daughter told me last night that the Eagles, not the Steelers, are her favorite football team. I blame myself for singing her the Eagles fight song when she requested a new bed time song the other night. I've yet to figure out how to break this news to my in-laws. |

I disagree on statement 1. And yes Jones was doesn't mean I didn't want him than. We knew mason was not hextall guy |

Again, who else was he supposed to sign? Winnipeg's $4.1m backup with the sparkling .892 SV%? - Feanor
it wasn't .892 on that list you showed. he could've traded for darling, he could've done exactly what he did do, he could've signed Mason. Goalies move around all the time.
Paying two of them like low level starters and what do you get? I think the goalies have been fine, but they are what they are. |

I am kind of there too.
One thing i am starting to notice is when Giroux and Voracek are together there seems to be a lack of shooting as both make that extra pass to often. - J35Bacher
there was at least one shift I saw Patrick with Giroux and Voracek but that may have been more because of Coots on the PK |

Only skimmed a few pages here because, well, they were awful last night and I pretty much got the gist of the mood.
My thoughts from the first nine pages:
1. A nice bowl of steel cut oatmeal with some raisins, cinnamon, and a splash of milk is good.
2. Oatmeal cookies are not good. |

So far you get similar goaltending to what Carolina has got at 70% of the cost, plus you didn't give up a 3rd round pick.
You also aren't blocking any of the goalie prospects past June 2019 at the latest. |

If I was Neuvy last night I probably skated off the ice went up the tunnel and said THANK (frank)ING GOD! That's a poop show in front of me tonight. - dragonoffrost
thing is we watch mistakes end up in the net and the opposition's mistake not so it makes the goaltending frustrating right or wrong. they scored on their breakaway and odd man breaks last night, the Flyers didn't |

Yes...it is a known fact that goalies have a save percentage directly proportional to the amount of talent they have and in no way does the team they play for change that.

I was never a football fan until I got married and started to watch the Steelers. I became a fan of them. I mean, I've always liked the Eagles, but I just wasn't a big football fan in general.
I have not been allowed to buy her anything Eagles related (likewise, I have barred people from buying her anything Penguins related), but since she's in the area, I figure that she'll be exposed to the Eagles a lot more than Steelers.
These are the kinds of things that you just can't protect them from. |

What is Martel's positive's and attributes he brings? I really do not know much about him and really only have noticed him this season because of his hot start at LHV.
What round pick was he? |

I recently found out that a 31-year-old guy that I work with is still a virgin. I was kind of shocked and wondering how that happens in this day and age. |
