Yeah, they have a few different guys that look like real players that aren't even in the lineup now. There's a bunch of options. You have to think the Leafs are very likely to make some kind of move at the deadline.

I like Andreas Johnson on the Marlies. The Kid is NHL ready but is stuck behind 4 guys

id take chara.

would the cost be higher or lower than Dermott, 1st round pick?

- systemtool

Dermott, Bracco and a conditional 3rd. Turns into a 1st if we win the cup

Thinking Chara now? May be possible even if Bruins make playoffs which I thinks a real chance unless injuries get them.

Not sure how well Chara will go against the speed of Tampa?

He’s been pretty good, actually. Rielly has looked like a legitimate #1 because of Hainsey. Who saw that coming?

It would work. Chara kills penalties. And Zaitzev and Chara would get all the D zone starts. Rielly and Hainsey keep handling the tougher competition and let Gardiner run free agaisnt 3rd lines. And have Carick/Borg keep developing on the other side.

Not sure about all that, but time 'may' tell if you get Chara & to the playoffs.

From last blog.

Call me insane.

but if the Bruins are not that close to the playoffs by the TD, I would not mind the Leafs grabbing Chara....I mean the Bruins and Leafs are rivals but not to the point where they wouldn't make a trade. Especially when Boston gets to grab some of the Leafs prospects.

I mean its just such a Lou move. Having all these rumored defensmen and then pull a deal like that.

Just for fun what does a rental Chara cost? I mean he is 40 it can't be crazy but he is still a top 4 minute eater.

thoughts?

You're insane.
2012 Chara, sure.
2017 Chara, NO!

“I think my stick hits (Raanta’s) pad. Obviously, I think I was pushed in but, I don’t know, I think the goalie had enough time get across.” Hyman said after the loss.

I see what you did there Mike!

What's with this Chara nonsense?

Now you guys are inserting people who are not FAs into your lineups?

Seriously guys Chara? No thanks, 40 year old, good hockey sense sure, clears the front of the net, ok - pylon - big time. Leafs are a speed team, it would make much more sense scooping a d-man from the Oilers. Chiarelli's ass will be burning soon if he doesn't do something to turn things around. Oilers were expected to be in the finals this year, and unless there is a drastic change, they will have a lottery pick. Perfect ! Leafs have 5 NHL forward lines in the system, so can afford to give the oilers a couple of forwards and a prospect for a d-man and Oiler's 1st rounder. Did you say Dahlen? Hello.

It's funny how you don't want Chara but will gladly take the Oilers tire fire D.

They will never trade Larson or Nurse. The rest are not anything special. Just because a guy is 25 it dosnt mean they are good

Yeah, but the first comment was about trading for him. Not signing him in the offseason.

If the Oilers are going to be a lottery pick team, then why would they even consider trading their #1 pick? We may be able to get someone like Klefbom (I would prefer Nurse, but I doubt they move him.... Although Chidiot might do it), but not a 1st round pick too.

Yes, if the Bruins are out of it by the deadline they would be smart to trade him. Especially if he wants to to resign.

I'm not sure if I mentioned that

Get Chara.
Condition is that he beats up Marchand every time Leafs play Boston.

Chia owes us that lottery pick. But more importantly, he's dumb enough to trade it.

Marleau - Matthews - Marner
Nash - Thornton - Jagr
D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Brown
Hyman - Tavares - Ward

Rielly - Hainsey
Chara - Zaitsev
Borgman - M. Green

Freddy A.
Ward

I think this could work with a few trade deadline deals for experienced players.
hello Stanley Cup
