Wow the PP sucks. - AdamFrench
Me thinks they need to start working on the entry zone again. It’s ugly.
It feels like it worked so well for so long and now every team has figured it out.

Exactly what I was thinking. The jig is up and everyone knows what the Leafs are going to do when entering the zone. They need to add some new tricks to their playbook.

I've always hated it. Especially in the power play
*8 guys standing still at the blue line*
"Wonder why we never get zone entry" durp
But even 5v5 is bad too. They get clogged up and wonder why they don't get passed the blue line on the attack. Then give them nothing but space and time and wonder why zone entries are so easy. |

Two things I don’t like right now.
1) Stop with the stretch pass. The team isn’t losing so stop fleeing the defensive zone and skating up the ice with your head down.
2) Entry zone- try the dump in chase every once in awhile it will probably catch them off guard. |

Stretch passes are nice if they work, but they don't. I bet we're top 5 in icings this season because nobody can give a pass. Watching some successful teams, I've noticed its not a one pass and done style. Multiple short passes/give and goes go a long way if you're skating. |

The stretch pass is another trick we were using to great success for a while, but I think teams have caught on and have been watching for it most of this season. Nowadays when we use that too much it mostly just seems to result in losing possession and then counterattacks by the opposition. It annoys the crap out of me. I noticed that happening all the time during our first losing streak this season.
Ah crap. Figured Florida would score eventually. |
