I think Drouin isn't the top guy you need him to be.

I'd like to see them trade Lindgren for a decent price at the end of the season

- Aaron_85

After watching him thus far, I can honestly say I am convinced he's not meant to be a top centre.

But he's good enough to be a first line winger down the line.... I'm confident about this.

Same as Habs, not sure why guys like Yost are talking about moves etc when they are leading the league in possession, I thought it would be stay doing what your doing and the luck will change.
- Garnie

I guess you cant just write statistical articles all the time, I have no idea how that business works but I assume its hits.. throwing out a trade deal around montreal and toronto centered around Weber will get more hits... I assume

but ya..the other problem is the way the League is setup with 3 point games and such. .hitting a run a crap luck and bad play can ruin a season and put you too far back..you have to think about next season after 20 games

Also:

The guy that should be playing centre is Galchenyuk.... but they keep fooling themselves by playing him on the wing.

Can't exactly explain why.

Maybe Bergevin and Julien are more clever than we think. This feels like tanking without giving up the appearance that they're tanking.

Does it suck? Sure, mostly because we need/want/hope Drouin can be so much more than what he has shown right now.

But to be honest, Sergachev's success is, as you pointed out, very relative of the team he's playing for.

How many points would he have in Montreal?

In Tampa he's playing around 13-16 minutes per game.... he's not yet mr. reliable but brings decent offense.

In the end, I still don't mind the trade and can live with the occasional laughies about Sergachev's vs Drouin's production.

- Scabeh

I still think Drouin could work out ok for Montreal. At the end of the day, the Hab braintrust thought, we have Weber, we have Mete two very good d-men, we have no offense - the trade made sense. I think Drouin would be better on wing than at Centre. (Similar to Marner) Habs need a good centre whether a FA or a high pick to play alongside. He is more of a complemetary player than a superstar on his own.

Pacioretty is still signed for another year @ 4.5M.

top 5 goal scorer in the last 5 years... produces 65 points per season.

He's our softer version of Blake Wheeler.... his value is way higher than a player who's having trouble making the NHL today.

- Scabeh

This is true but McDavid and Draisaitl will make over $20 million stating next year, Lucic and RNH make another $12 million, Strome and Nurse are RFA next year. The reason Eberle was traded was to clear some salary, Pacioretty will be looking for a big payday in 2019 and Edmonton will have difficulty trying to come up with that money. If they make a move, they will want to reduce payroll not add.

They have good possession metrics because McDavid carries the puck in then has to wait a few minutes for his linemates to get there.

true enough, IMO 25-30 games I think you still have a chance...but after that it's pretty tough...usually 1 team seems to make a run from way back.

Most likely true, but that depends on what their vision is for the next 2-3 years.

Pacioretty is an elite goal scorer that could improve any team's offense for cheap this season and the next.... I'm guessing if not them, plenty of teams would be interested.

Except the peoples are counting shot attempts not the length of time in the zone. but after seeing the 10-1 for Arizona over TO the other night I have a feeling Stevie Wonder is the one counting.

Drouin and Connor Brown would be a nice combination.

Brown/Hainsey/Leafs 2nd 2018 for Weber

This rocket man scenario is hilarious.

That said, Hughes isn’t a totally unproven engineer. He set a Guinness World Record in 2002 for a limousine jump, according to Ars Technica, and has been building rockets for years, albeit with mixed results.

The Kickstarter raised $310 of its $150,000 goal.

I KIND OF want it live streamed but also KIND OF don't.

Scenario A) He doesn't get off the ground
Scenario B) He blows up on the ground
Scenario C) He blows up in the sky
Scenario D) He flies and blows up on impact
Scenario E) HE DISCOVERS EARTH IS INDEED FLAT! ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED!
Scenario F) He does what planes have been for a few years and he sees nothing special.

Also, there are buildings taller than his 1800ft goal

I agree. He should be a winger. Which if he turns into that then the deal is fine, unless he does it with another team.

He will get paid for sure, and that's the proplem for Edmonton. A Pacioretty for RNH trade would make more sense for the Oilers from a salary perspective. Oilers have Draisaitl and McDavid and could easily move RNH - Habs are weak at centre. If Oilerscould sign Patches they could add a player and or a pick.

I could see a few teams wanting that. Edmonton included if they feel they can make a run this season again.
