Why is anyone worried about the Oil....great team says the advanced stats...same as the Habs and the Canes. Should give Chia an extension shouldn't they?

Advanced stats are a piece of the puzzle. If you base everything on eye tests, then you're no better than this guy.

no way,,,,call was right on the ice, no matter how much I wanted it to count.
- Garnie

Respectfully disagree, the call on the ice should only be overturned with irrefutable evidence of a bad call. The fact that we disagree, is one clue, many observers that are not biased like I am also agree it was the wrong call. Hyman had two large defenders guiding him into the crease, goalie made an academy award winning flop back into his net and was well in postiton to try to stop a shot he had no hope of stoping.

Out attempting their opponents by 180 shots in 21 games....why would they want to change anything?

Terrible goaltending and bad luck?

It doesnt sound like they are looking to move a dman..but he is the prime buy low candidate

Chia doesnt seem to understand PDO and stuff that makes players "look bad" like low OIsh% etc..

Sold Eberle on a down year for his sh% (career low)

what a mess..lucked into Mcdavid and shat all over the place
Watch them luck into Dahlen

- senstroll

they only have rnh and klefbom to sell off their roster; to bring back anything decent.

or he's moving puljavari and his 1st

we'll just disagree...no way the goalie flopped...Hyman speared him into the net.

Anyone got a YouTube vid of it?

I'm biased too....and think it was the right call.

I think you're both biased.

Haven't seen the play but I'll also assume you're both wrong.

Somehow.

thing is, chia usually gives guys the better part of at least 3 nhl seasons before he dumps them.

kessel - 3 seasons
wheeler - 3 seasons
seguin - 3 seasons
yak - +3 seasons
hall - +3 seasons
eberle - +3 seasons

i'm not saying your trade can't happen, just seems a couple years early.

rnh is probably burning a whole in is pocket right now.

Bergevin really do it?

Does it suck that Sergachev has more points than Drouin? (I'll be nice and say Tampa has a way better team surrounding Sergachev than Drouin has in Montreal)

Nice try, but not going to happen. Among the many boneheaded moves, trading Hall being the biggest, is the fact that Edmonton will not take advantage of McDavid's last year of entry level contract salary. Something, way back when, Hawks did, hopefully, Leafs will, but Chia missed the boat on that one. He won't be taking back a $7 million plus a year player for a guy with 7 years of relatively cheap control left.

Does it suck? Sure, mostly because we need/want/hope Drouin can be so much more than what he has shown right now.

But to be honest, Sergachev's success is, as you pointed out, very relative of the team he's playing for.

How many points would he have in Montreal?

In Tampa he's playing around 13-16 minutes per game.... he's not yet mr. reliable but brings decent offense.

In the end, I still don't mind the trade and can live with the occasional laughies about Sergachev's vs Drouin's production.

I think Drouin isn't the top guy you need him to be.

I'd like to see them trade Lindgren for a decent price at the end of the season

Same as Habs, not sure why guys like Yost are talking about moves etc when they are leading the league in possession, I thought it would be stay doing what your doing and the luck will change.

Pacioretty is still signed for another year @ 4.5M.

top 5 goal scorer in the last 5 years... produces 65 points per season.

He's our softer version of Blake Wheeler.... his value is way higher than a player who's having trouble making the NHL today.
