EG has rebounded after being an initial let down. so many factors. what are clubs willing to pay for him? what are the Canucks willing to pay him? How much does EG want?

hoping JB makes some moves before everyone is healthy.

i'm sure he's talked trade pieces with his counterparts, deals are tough. especially if it's gotten out Gudbranson won't re-sign here.

If you are Ron Hextall are you going to trade Giroux, Voracek, Couturier, Simmonds, Patrick, Konecny? I doubt 16 teams were lining up for Weal, Raffl, Leier or Lehtera.

I also doubt that Gost, provorov or another young defender is on the move. Sanheim, Morin, Hagg value is not very high right now.

I also haven't heard any Flyers players name in the rumour mill lately.

Gudbranson and Vanek are both on the trade bait list.

Here's hoping that Edler is on the phone with JB as we speak waiving to go to Philly...

They should probably restart the rebuild. Year 1. McDavid, Drais, larsson only untouchables

You would have to think GM would get fired if that was the case. It’s like getting handed the keys to a Ferrari and flooding the engine.

Larsson and klefbom should be untouchable but my god have they been bad. Chiarelli has really dug himself a big hole, much like bergevin

Good analogy vintsy. Atleast a GM walking in on edms team has a decent core to work with. Benning didnt have the same luxury

They almost seem to have the same problem as Montreal in that they have 2 good D then a bunch of plugs. Same as Van last season.

Both teams severely underperforming. No excuse for their losing. Makes me dislike edm even more though.

WHat’s the name of the Canadian kid in the Ottawa system, Chabot? JB should try and go back to that well at (or before) the deadline, Ott GM has a few whiffs now, candy from a baby...

Boeser ranks 1st in the NHL in points per 60 min and yet the article on nhl.com had all 18 analysts unanimously pick Keller as the leader in the calder race

I think Benning has been just ok, but man he gets a rough ride given the poop he inherited. I think the real beef people have with him is the positive message he tries to spin when it’s clear the team isn’t that good. It would be like the manager at McDougals trying to tell you that you are going to have an excellent meal because
Louie Anderson is in the back cooking fries when you know damn well his fry cooking is worse then his jokes.

Eastern media bia....oh wait.

Don’t get all bent out of shape, Boeser will continue to impress and be there at the end of the season. Leading your team in scoring as a rookie will get him votes.

Yeah I'm not concerned yet. Keller is playing heavier minutes and both guys are gonna have to adjust to the long schedule. I'd bet Boeser fares better late in the year, plus if we're in playoff contention we'll get way more attention late in the season.

Still annoying though.

That happens so often that it shouldn't surprise or anger anyone by now. I'm just glad that we finally have something/someone to get excited about.

Three more seasons of pap and then we'll start seeing some return on our investment of pain and suffering.

I made my 3-2 Penguins prediction before it was announced Malksey (Malker?) was out. Still, seems like a reasonable bet.

Crosby, Kessel x 2
Gaunce, Sutter

With this roster and history of injuries, I wouldn't bet on that.

Didn't Sutter take a puck to the inside of his thigh last night? That's got to slow him down a bit.

Gaunce is a frustrating player to watch. Not sure why he was taken in the first round based on what I see on the ice (so far).

Well assuming he doesnt get hurt, it would seem more likely for Keller to tail off late in the year playing more minutes and playing at C
