And of course, Schenn with a goal and 3 points tonight.

Sigh

- BiggE

Again, Hak wasn't able to get that out of Schenn.

Score a goal and were still down 4-2 and this team starts to show passion and energy and hard work. Where was this effort before? THAT is on the coach bottom line.
- Buzzo

So if the team not showing passion, energy, and hard work previous to the goal is on the coach, then tell me, what did the coach do to get the team to finally show some passion?

It all started when AMac went down.
- MBFlyerfan

Funny how that works. The one player we all thought sucked started the dominoes to irrelevency..

Really though, i think Schenn just has a fire under his ass this year.

He did the same in his contract year. Guy always had the tools but the effort was not consistent. I’d go back and do that trade again I think.

That was our mistake. We should of traded for Tarasenko and paired him with Schenn.
- Doc_Sarcasm

LOL!!!

Yeah, he is doing what he is doing because Tarasenko is carrying him.

They scored a goal. It was hardly a surge.

MacDonald in the lineup tonight doesn't change anything in my view. Neither would Schenn.

There was definitely a surge after the goal. For the first time all game they were up on their skates, winning races and competing. They were lifeless previously.

So I guess in your opinion we do not need a head coach on the bench or dressing room on gamedays as it should only be on the players right?

Honestly how the hell does Mark Alt get in this game and not Morin? What did he play 6 minutes tonight and look lost on the PK. Im sure Morin would have been way worse tonight and Morin would have made us lose by more then 2 goals right.

it's not a one to one equation. The confidence, unity...all collapsed and it sort of started when MacDonald got hurt. Not saying he's the reason, just seems it shifted things around a bit and not for the better.

Part of a coaches job is motivation. Part of a coaches job is line up selection. Part of a coaches job is line combonations....part of a coaches job Is holding players accountable when they mail in an effort.....etc....etc....a fact outside of Philadelphia is players and coaches should be accountable for failure....who is accountable for this poop show ? No one seems to know .

Who knew that MacDonald's absence would be so detrimental to Simmonds' play?

If you are seriously trying to say that it isn't a part of the coaches job to motivate his players than you really know nothing whatsoever about the game of hockey. And please stop posting like everything you say about this team is completely right and only your opinion is the right one. You don't know (frank)ing poop you probably have never even played the game it's annoying dude

Professional athletes being paid millions of dollars to play a game should not need to be motivated to play. A coach can only put the choices he has in the lineup. He isn't being given much to work with throughout the lineup with a lot of players coming up small. He would need to hold a lot of players accountable after this game. If this continues we know who will be held accountable.

Bring some young guys up, nothing to lose at this point. Getting young players experience is always a good thing and having Morin, Vecchione and Martel in the line up now will only benefit the Flyers more in the future. Scratch Lehtera and Raffl plug those two in on forward and put in Morin for Alt.

So far this season Manning has taken 7 penalties. 1 hook, 2 holds, 3 slashes, 1 interference and the result is 5 power play goals against while serving. That's a 71% conversion rate for the other team. Keep taking those lazy penalties bro.
