Ross is correct. Roslovic needs to stay in AHL for a while until we need him because of injuries. Maurice and the Jets do not need to start changing the whole lineup because they lost one game . We had three bad breaks that led to goals or it would have been a different result. I don't mind a line tweak but its amazing how we lose one game and everyone comes out of the closet wanting wholesale changes. If we go 0-4 on this road trip then maybe it then warrants a discussion.

I don’t want wholesale changes. I want Little with different wingers, and improvements in the bottom 6. My way of achieving that was to call up Roslovic and shuffle everyone else down. I can also accept:
Ehlers-Scheifele-Laine
Connor-Little-Wheeler
Perreault-Copp-Armia
Tanev-Lowry-Dano
Matthias
Hendricks

Do you go with Mason tonite? Or keep rolling with Helle in the net? What's the call on that one?

I do agree with most of the posters saying the #2 line is in a funk and needs a jolt of something, maybe a different center for a game. Maurice hasn't taken out the blender in a while so perhaps the limited blender comes out tonite?

One more point, Laine doesn't impress my wife one iota. Ok, who cares about that statement, right? But seriously, she used to play ringette and she is constantly asking me what is so special about him, or making comments "what is tied to his @$$ slowing him down? etc. The word floater has come up a few times. I am tired of defending him to her as he has a great shot, knows how to find the open space and when he unloads, chances are it is a booming shot but.....Is he just getting more attention from other teams this year as he should, or is he spending too much time thinking of how to get himself to the left hash mark to let the one timer go?? I agree with one of the posters here saying they were not sure if he was even playing the other nite as he seems slower than last year. Is there a bit of "feed me please" and I will boom it going on?? Just saying it how I see it...... I like the kid though.

I don't disagree with your wife on a few of her comments. I was the first to say I beleive Laine's training regimen in the summer was suspect. Sure, he worked hard on his cardio fitness levels and he did a lot of weights. However 5 days on the ice all summer just doesn't cut it ....and it shows . He is not the best skater so one would think that he should have spent a lot of time on that with a power skating coach. The there is is stick-handling skills. That part could also use a lot of work. He seems to try and dangle the defender every time he comes across the blue line. It works about 1 in 20 times. He really could benefit by going to the same camp that Scheif , McDavid and Seguin go to. They work on all those things ...plus plus.

You can be sure that Maurice and some fo the Jets leaders are going to make a strong case to him when 2018 Off-season comes around that he needs to spend a LOT more time working on his on-ice skills. The only good news for the Jets is his price tag may have dropped somewhat from the $10 MM I thought he might get to a more reasonable $7 MM price tag on a long term contract.

I don't like writing long responses so I won't here. Laine like many young players is not thinking the game at NHL speed and needs more time to develop. I like to compare what he is now to what Morrissey was at that age. He knows what to do on most occasions but doesn't do it quickly enough to be effective at the NHL level. His foot speed needs to improve and so does his processing the speed of the NHL game. Connor had trouble with the latter part too last year. When everyone is thinking the game faster than you, you don't win puck battles along the boards. You cough up the puck far to often. You get stood up at the blue line time after time. Just like Morrissey and Connor Laine will figure this out and the game will slow down for him.

Exactly, BookEmDano - Laine needs to transition his game to NHL level ... the kid can score - no doubt about it ... he can also lay out some of the most beauty passes - no doubt about that either ... but he tries to pull moves that are not NHL caliber ... and some of the vets should take him aside and explain what's needed during the off-season to continually improve
.
Sheifs & Wheels above pt per game pace ... Perrault right on it ... Laine just off the mark with 16 pts in 21 games
.
Good performance last night in LA (first regulation win by Jets/Thrashers in LA, ever) ... now a treat: given Thanksgiving in the US of A - puck drop tomorrow at 3pm ... if there ever was a reason to knock-off early on a Friday and open a case - - well, there it is !

Laine needs to improve his skating, especially his acceleration. His moves don't work at half-speed.
